Tyler Booker looking to bring ferocity to the OL

OK for starters, they found someone. They couldn't make a deal.

Yes Hoffman has attitude.

Again, Tyler is not going to LT. He just isn't.
You can keep saying it but just like Booker, it's going to be a shock to your system when they decide to go that way..

i'm saying, it's there if needed,
because if they're gonna take a guard and we already have like 10 guard/center options on this team, but very little options at tackle,
they have a backup plan, and that will be moving Tyler IMHO
you can say they're not, and I'm gonna tell you you're wrong ,because we'll find out I think eventually that will be what needs to be done before game one, not like Mike McCarthy who waited eight games to use Rico More, to figure out that Martin was injured and slow, and to reorganize this and he should've went one more step, he should have put Tyler Smith out the left tackle early on and put Hoffman hor bass at guard and got this thing rolling I had to put both of them in..
i've seen them both play they may not be frontline starters but they held up the mistake was not making this decision see you're Mike McCarthy 2.0 you're like well no it's gonna have to be really really bad for me to consider that no it shouldn't be best 5 applies...
Before week 6 this is what would have worked BEST TYler-Bass-Bebe-Hoffman-Steele/Guyton.. Use Turpin twice as much in pass patterns, rico 20 carries min a game ..
They waited till basically the season was over to make any changes at all and they didn't go far enough in my opinion and I don't think they're going to allow that to happen, AGAIN!!...

We don't have time this year for experimentation with starting players we need to know this and camping preseason that's what camp and preseason's for mike mccarthy made a mistake he didn't notice it until it was too late we had no run game the offensive line couldn't block he didn't use turpin he didn't use Hunter he didn't use anybody properly and that can't happen this year!!

That is the one reason I'm glad McCarthy's gone I did not like him as an offensive coordinator and I didn't like him as a fact that he tried to force players onto the field and let them practice and grow into the position that is not what the regular season is for you should have noticed by game 4 or 5 this wasn't going to work and change it then get ahead of it it didn't happen i'm telling you they won't let it happen this year..

Just like Booker was a shock last night to most not to all there was a few mock drafts that had him there or that guy Zable, but for most of us it was a shock and this will be a shock when they announced Tyler Smiths moving to left tackle, and they're putting Hoffman at left guard, and that'll be the rotation..
the thing they'll move guyton over to right tackle or have him fight with steel it's not that big of fantasy it's not a stretch i'm telling you they won't put up with it like they did before brian Schottenheimer watched Mike Mccarthy lose his job for doing the very thing he's not going to do it...

We had more weapons on this team than it appeared to the lineups were wrong the groupings were wrong and when you don't use a guy like Turpin when he's got all that speed and you're hurting at wide receiver that's insane you're looking for short yardage guys and the year before you don't use hunter more we had never had to bring Zeke back if Mike mccarthy knew what the hell he was doing he was stubborn he did not want to change his lineups...

They did, in a way, but seemed to have dropped off.
Tyron constant injuries did not help. And Martin's contract dispute, I feel that took away some of his. He just became another player after that.
disagree about Martin's dispute meaning much
not anymore

all the drivel in the world is not going to change this reality
Tyler is going to stay at guard

Which is what should happen. The goal should be to keep Smith in at Guard, but obviously you cant sit back and just let the LT spot be a black hole if Guyton isnt a much improved player.
It was like when we got LA and he had to play tackle his rookie season. It was clear he was a better guard but immediate need was more important for THAT season.
Tyler SMith might have to play LT but he will remain a guard after this need is met

Hes got two years left before he hits UFA status. Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if the Cowboys explored trade options for him tonight. I would have to think he has some value in the market given how cheap his contract is.
They’d be dumb to trade him. He’s probably not a long term starter but he’s a valuable spot starter at center and guard.

This makes me happier. Tyler Smith at LT, Booker at LG, Beebe at C, Hoffman or Bass at RG, then figure out Guyton. I think Guyton could be the RT and then the Cowboys can get out of Steele's contract, or maybe even trade him for some day three picks.

I dont disagree with your Hoffman assessment, but hes likely the one guy that I think could get you something halfway decent back in a trade. He has some mixed film from 2024 and comes cheap with 2 years of team control.

You already have Bass and just signed Jones/Charles this offseason. Thats 7 interior guys with Smith/Hoffman/Beebe/Booker as should be locks to make the roster. Granted its better to have too much depth going into camp, but you wont be able to keep all these guys.

I like guys that drool and grunt when they get in their stance

Bonus if you poop a lil

...I had to read that again. But Booker runs 40>5.3 I know he's big dude. But hoping he was faster.

We've been talking about it it would have been nice at 15 to 18 but couldn't find anyone to trade down this guy is a solid pick but let's not forget Hoffman was resigned dudes got all kinds of attitude got that bully thing going on I think the only way to make this make sense is to move Tyler Smith out to left tackle, Put Hoffman at left guard can you imagine the center of that line

Hoffman-Beebee-Booker I think this was the plan last year when they put BB in there to be better than Tyler Biadsz yep another Tyler.. He he's bigger and stronger in the middle than our other center was now you got Hoffman is a mauler he may not be big but he's got attitude and now this dude is just straight up football player prototypical guard but he can also pass block so yeah it's a good choice but the rest of their plant needs to unfold for everyone to actually let this go because it feels like a kick in the nuts but lots of things are going to happen by Tuesday and we'll all be in a better mood I believe except for all the guys I have on ignore.LOL.

Tush push Incoming LOL
Hoffman was an exclusive rights FA, there’s absolutely no reason not to resign him as he’s your primary backup at 2 positions. That said, he’s limited. He’s not someone you really want starting for long periods or DCs are going to break down the film to expose the limitations that made him an UDFA.
Outside of desperation due to injury there’s nothing that makes sense about moving Tyler Smith to tackle.
Same reason they never moved Martin. You don’t move a guard with all pro potential outside to be an average Tackle!

Second to last 40 time, worst split, 3rd to last vertical, worst broad jump, 2nd to last 3 cone, 5th to last shuttle, and 4th to last in bench. He's unathletic with no positional versatility, and over drafted but he's a hell of a guy. Not a big deal for a road grading mauler that you take in round 2...but Dallas took him at 12.

Now go over Travis Frederick’s test scores.

..wow! THere must be something they saw in the guy then..lol.

Hoping he pans out, like everyone believes.

So you are benching Guyton?

Smith - Beebe - Booker will be a very good interior OL.

Guyton will improve in year 2, and under better coaching. Steele will be better being 2 years in from his injury recovery.

Hoffman, Bass, Richards will be pretty good depth.
That leaves 1 or 2 spots open for a few other to develop. Either the FA's they signed, of a few draft picks from the last few years.
Smith, Booker, Beebe, Steel, Guyton
most will be back to their natural position
