Yeah tacos film was very inspiring. Total reach. Guyton does have good film, great traits. But he also has bad warts. They can be cleaned up with good coaching.
Houston, we have a problem.

Guyton is obviously a physical challenge for most college players to deal with. Whether or not he's able to bully pro d-linemen quite as well is yet to be determined. In any case, he'll be due for some technical training, just like most other OTs graduating from the college game are. His early exploits will be interesting to watch, no doubt. Learning if he's able to develop as well as his early draft position suggests will be interesting to note.

tyler smith came in with some warts and lots of potential and developed nicely. did admirably as a rookie at LT. Some of the younger depth guys have been okay when required to have some playing time. Biadasz developed into a decent player. developing OL hasn't been a weakness for us imo.
It's not. Some people like to complain.

Bass
Hoffman 2 others who have developed nicely here.

started 14 games in his career 13 at RT 1 at LT, he was drafted to play LT I would say there is going to be a big learning curve for him.

i don't disagree there will be a learning curve switching sides but he won't be the first to ever do it. i'm just saying this staff hasn't been that bad at developing talent for on the field production.

I don't have time to watch it but why don't you tell me your thoughts after you've watched it what do you think? By the way keep in mind Tyler Smith by the fans base words was gonna be a project and there's no way he was gonna start at left tackle his rookie year..hmm

Lots of fans said the same thing about Tyler Smith fans tend to have reason to be a lot more wrong than the coaching staff who picks the players for a reason a lot of people are what pretty much not very satisfied with their offensive line coach I don't know if they changed that from last year but everyone here counting on the coaches to clean whatever it is up are you really confident that's gonna happen but again when people look at these videos fans have their own opinions they said the very same thing about Tyler he started at left tackle his rookie year and he wasn't even supposed to be the left tackle he did a pretty admirable job... And now he's an all pro and guard but I don't think anybody expected Tyler Smith to do what he did his rookie year and he IN many people's opinion what's the far bigger project than Guyton...

This is why preseason still important it can't be completely gotten rid of we need to see guys like him some of our running backs some of our linebackers we need to see this draft group get significant snaps in live games even if it's just preseason they need those games maybe they only need two of them and the veterans really don't need to play any of them.. But when rosters have to be trimmed from like 90 to 53 and then find the 10 guys for the practice squad that happens more in preseason games and scrimmages some of the things we don't see but in game type atmospheres than it does practice...

So the jury is out on everyone until we get to see how they react playing some real competition trying to beat them... Maybe the experience that Micah Parsons got his rookie year trying to beat tyron Smith ,he'll be able to help guyton, I mean in practice that's how you do it you get your best pass rusher on that guy every day and just make him work...

I am going to wait and see how he does against NFL players. College tapes are full of plays against inferior talent.

Tape didn't lie for Taco too
Taco had very average traits for a DE. Guyton's traits are off the charts.

I still blame Rod for not having Watt here. Ugh.

To me the biggest difference, even beyond the physical traits, is that you can tell Guyton LOVES football, he wants to be great. Taco was never going to be a Parsons, but he had the tools to be a DLaw, I just don't think he cared that much.

I have no problem with other people anointing Tyler Guyton or any of the other Cowboys draft picks or UDFAs. But I am not going to do it or fall for it. I saw some great tape of Mazi Smith after last year's draft. I prefer to wait and see how Guyton fares against actual NFL caliber players he will face every week and every down.
