Since I can’t comment in an old thread and the MOD’s shut it down, guess I’ll create a new one. We’re now half way through the season and Guyton is ranked as the ~10th worst player at his position. Since fans were posting how we wouldn’t have to worry about the LT position after he played decent in his first game of the season, I thought it would be better to give it more time before making such a bold declaration.

Welp, he’s now had a season and a half and has shown little to no improvement. Of course there’s a chance he needs another year or full season but the future doesn’t look encouraging, or not nearly as encouraging as a lot of you were adamant about after ONE game. The competition isn’t going to get much easier, I don’t think he’ll suddenly “make a turn for the better” at this point in the season.

He certainly hasn’t taken the big stride forward that people had hoped. He’s been a little below average, which is where the rest of the line has played for the most part.

He gets another year to get better, just like Mazi, before the crushing expectations eat him up.

It was a terrible draft pick. I hated the pick in real time and I hate it even more so today. When his name started to pop up before the draft I knew that was the pick, I called it back then it was a terrible pick.

He said the same thing about Mazi Smith and Luke Schoonmaker until year 3 when he finally admitted they were busts.
Maybe he disagreed with the “little” part of the “little to no improvement”.

I get it, PFF is very subjective but overall, I think their scores match up well to how a player is doing compared to his peers since they’re all being graded the same for their respective positions. Guyton is the 10th worst tackle in mist categories, I think that’s fairly accurate based in what I’ve seen.

He looks like a below average starting NFL LT. Players are supposed to make their biggest improvement between year one and year two as a rule of thumb. If he did I must have missed it.

Yep, Guyton will be no more than average to slightly above average here in Dallas..a JAG..waste of a 1st round pick

He’ll, the whole offensive line looks like a bust! Smith has regressed since T Smith left the building. As for the defense, oh my GOD, it’s going to get worse…….lol!!!!
