Tyler Guyton YouTube interview

Last year's struggles for Guyton will make him a better player learning forward. He didn't have a ton of starts in college so the experience he got will definitely work in his favor.
Some players need a year to understand the commitment and discipline required by the NFL to reach their potential. They can't just walk on the field and get the same result from college.

Watched the interview and got a better perspective on Guyton. Dude just hasn't played a lot of football, let alone at OT. Guyton was most certainly a traits pick and now Dallas has the coaches to help develop Tyler in a real way.

6'7 325 w/ 35in arms, and good feet...this is prototype OT build right here. TG should make a leap this season, he's working on his strength and taking his opportunity serious...so good luck to him.

I think most everyone thought he would have a Tyler Smith type rookie season.
surprising because most draft analysis was that we was raw and needed time in a pro system before eventually becoming an A+ starter.

Kid seems to have the right attitude and I think he was working with Big Duke which is a plus as well. I think he'll be OK.

Cowboys luck with drafting OL in the 1st and them immediately playing at an all-pro level (Tyron, Zach, Tyler) has kinda spoiled some fans here. That's definitely not the norm around the league, and it takes time for some OL to settle in and play well. I have faith in Guyton he'll have a good 2nd year.

He is switching sides and that was most of his problems last year, some people are wired in a way that switching sides can be difficult. Hopefully a full season on the Left side and a full off season speeds up his reactions on the left side.

We need him to take a big jump this year. He was one of the worst LTs in the NFL last year. We can't have that if this team has any chance of competing.

People are ready to write him off already, I think he has the potential to rebound this season
Im not ready to write him off but I am ready to write Steele off and slide guyton over to his natural spot. That said it may end up being worse on him and he may be worse than last year

I think the line will be a huge problem this season. Guyton isn’t a LT and showed it last season. Steele is washed and honestly only ever had one good season. I would cut Steele post June 1 and start Guyton at RT. But they’d have to draft a LT in round 1 or 2 to make that work.

I like Guyton and I'm hopeful on him, but to be honest he said all the right things in interviews last year, too. Unfortunately, being a good dude and saying the right things doesn't mean much.

I'm disappointed nobody who covers the team ever told us what was really going on with him last year. Getting benched for a spare like Edoga is pretty alarming.
Level-headed post. I get all the positivity only wishes but you can be both a realist and optimistic about a guy at the same time.

It sounds like another Garrett platitude.

I can just hear that Redheaded Fraud stating that as if he invented it. Probably with a few forced and inauthentic curse words thrown in.
I don't understand what you guys expect these players to say when they are asked questions like this. "Uh, no, pressure is terrifying and I am always so scared that I cave in to it and play terribly."

God forbid they try to have a positive and competitive outlook on things.

I think solari did nothing to improve any of the lineman. They have invested in oline expertise, hopefully they get him on track. I saw him at the hotel in Maryland before the washington game. He looked like a small forward. He can put a lot of muscle on that frame. He's very athletic, has a ton of potential.
Said he was up to 325lbs. & he didn't look chubby.

I was trashing Garrett there, not Guyton. And I'll never back off from trashing Garrett.

As far as Guyton, I already said I like him and what he said. He seems like a really good dude. Just pointing out that this isn't new -- he said all the right things last year, then apparently got benched for Spare Edoga.
