Tyler is gonna kick his a**! I have confidence in him. Left guard and center? Not so much. We still get the W though. 30 - 13 Cowboys. We get a pick 6.
Ok I'll play....if we go break down Tyrone like the posts about peters you will find some PFF and other grades have him very average in pass protections. ytes iv listen to sports talk radio and many sports tv programs they went back and checked and 77 has not been his old self of late..stop the eye tests and memory's from the games he played in they go break it down and find its otherwise..
Good takes, I agree.I think he can handle the run blocking, the guy is very powerful and if we can be proficient running the ball that can be a big help in slowing down a pass rush. You keep down and distance in your favor, use play action then Cowboys just might be able to build confidence up in Tyler Smith. What concerns me is getting stuck in 2nd and 3rd long situation where defense can pin their ears back and go after Dak, not sure Tyler Smith is ready for that vs a player of Barrett skill sets.
Yep!Ok I'll play....
Tyron Smith 2021 per PFF
Snaps - 738
Sacks - 2
Penalties - 7
Overall Grade - 91.4 (#2 T)
Pass Pro Grade - 88.0 (#3 T)
Run Blocking - 90.4 (#2 T)
Unless someone has other data to share I'll stand by my stance that Tyron is still a top LT in the league, he just can't stay healthy.
I would bet a lot of money come week 3 that is exactly what we see. If not it's probably a really good sign because the Smith/McGovern combo on the left side should be working well.Yep!
His health is the rub.
I was hoping they would have Peters take over his spot this season and not Tyler.

The guy just seems like a better fit at G to me too. Big strong nasty mauler type. Let him play inside and be that power player to neutralize the bigger DTs the Cowboys have struggled with for years. I think that may help his penalty issues as well. Not saying he cant eventually play LT, but its a simpler transition from college to pro to do it inside.Yep, I hope Tyler balls out...
The odds are stacked against him however.
He got most of his training camp work at LG and not LT which furthers my concerns...

Hope he's got his track shoes on!Dak better be on his happy-feet med.
again, they could dop this on anyone not just us or just Smith.thats their game strong DL and pass rush good support from LBs,.etc..yes they have great defense, NOT NEW!
as i already stated It does not surprise to our fans or coaching staff. we saw them game 1 last year on the road and nearly beat them sans a Kicker issue??
odd last year we dropped what 31 on that vaunted D.. didn't martin miss that game. i mean cwill and Collins not exactly stalwarts we are replacing. Thats my point. Tyrone has not been himself go check PFF and other analytics TS77 has not been that great in pass protection his last 20 games or so. injuries caught up to him, Smith73 is not repealing a Tyrone in his prime..not as big gap as fans are making it. yes hes a rookie..big tests coming.
Perts is not penciled as a starter from what i hear they want him if they can afford it be the swing tackle and want 73 to learn OJT..now if the first 2 games he can handle ti alt all and hes getting chazzed greened, well yes Peters welcome to LT and slide Smith to LG If McGovern is struggling, if not Smith is the swing tackle...
Most anticipated first game in a while. Can't wait to see what Kellen Moore has in store to address the weakness on the left side.
caught up to Zurliene lol 2 points brah..TWO!their defense was pretty thin w/ injury (secondary specifically) last year. and we did miss martin, we couldn't run the ball at all and completely abandoned it. Kellen had a good gameplan but it eventually caught up to them. also we still had amari
availability is key he hasnt been very often. last 3 years , playing dinged also slows him down but i heard differently, not sure what analytics they used but some program said he was ranked like 20 something in LT play for pass protections. Not sure how they calculated it ..Ok I'll play....

I'm open minded if better data is out there....I just don't see itavailability is key he hasnt been very often. last 3 years , playing dinged also slows him down but i heard differently, not sure what analytics they used but some program said he was ranked like 20 something in LT play for pass protections. My game plan would be not to let vea just get his bullrush on. I'm running sweeps and tosses to get him chasing plays laterally preferably to the rookies side so we can run over whoever he's matched up with. I'd probably switch up and use Pollard more early. And then pound inside with zeke late when he's gassed.I think Vea v McGovern is my biggest fear. I am sure that Smith will have his learning moments, but I believe that the McGovern / Biadasz gap is our weakest link.
Jet sweeps and te screens , nothing ever goes wrong on those...lolCan't wait to see what Kellen Moore has in store to address the weakness on the left side.
