Why wait until after the useless Pro Bowl to have the surgery when he could've had it after the season ended in December? That would've given him another month of rehab.

Because it's an extremely minor procedure and time wasn't a factor.

He could have also had some inflammation around the knee right after the season that they wanted to subside.

It was a clean out it appears. Very common procedure and lots of players get them every off season
