Hmmm ........

Tyrann Mathieu - DB - Cardinals
The Cardinals' official website expects the team to "take a look" at Tyrann Mathieu's "contract structure."

Although he was finally healthy and led the NFL in snaps in 2017, Mathieu's contract will almost certainly be readjusted. For 2018, he's due $10.75 million between salary and bonuses, including a $5 million roster bonus. If he's on the Cardinals' roster at the start of the new league year, he will be locked into $19 million guaranteed overall. That's too much for a 5-foot-9 hybrid who has declined from his play-making peak because of injuries

He is only 25. He only had 1 year with better stats than 2017.

He should decline a pay cut and test free agency.

Man, I'd be all over the Honey Badger!

Send him to Europe for a few months of "rejuvenation" and let him run free as our new FS.

Unless, of course, ET3 is available -- as Stash pointed out above.

There were many during draft time screaming to take this kid- but, you know, he isn’t a RKG apparently and Jason Garret runs a tight ship here guys.

All the players are super professional and are always RKGs on and off the field so this is a no no for us because Jason Only wants RKGs like Byron Jones who celebrate and act like a child after every tackle or incomplete pass

Mods, please move this to the NFL Zone.

Dallas "likes what they have" with their safeties. They will not sign this player.

There is no reason to discuss this.

Thank you.

You can just keep it moving ... you dont have to respond you know if this topic not your cup of tea.

Interesting player but not at CB. Let the kids play

But what if someone suggests trade Dez for Ty...then should it be moved to the roster zone? :muttley:

I think we need to add a veteran not named Byron Jones to the mix.

Let Jones be the tight end guy—-he was fantastic at that as a rookie.

Or how about we make our former first round draft pick perform like one or just move on?

If he can’t perform like one, don’t force it. He may never live up to his draft pick but it doesn’t mean he can’t help the team.

He is under contract and probably better and cheaper than another depth player you can find on the street.

You are a buzzkill

I wish we would have drafted this dude back in 2013. Off the field issues are always a concern but he’s the honey badger, I wouldn’t mind going for him
