Drawing raves at Giants camp . New coach and Gm from Buffalo obviously liked him and he gets a FA contract in NY . Don’t think Daniel Jones is on a long leash any early misery like an 0-2 or 3 beginning and Taylor will get in place .

Dallas brought back the same three that competed as Daks caddy last year. I’m hoping not to see the outcome of this strategy but it’s 17 games .

Jones is halfway decent when the players are around him. Last year was supposed to be his prove it year, but everyone got injured. But I think you're right. If he has a rough first month, I think the experiment is over.

I hope Jones starts all 17 games, because they are a 1-16 team with Tyrod. If that happens, they will actually get a franchise QB

With DaBoll dropping F bombs in the 4th quarter of pre season games caught on open mike night maybe that franchise has another out of control Judge Joe on its hands …

 :starspin:

There have been a number of QBs like Taylor in the history of the NFL. Guys that just hang around.
Perform just well enough to keep making rosters and occasionally starting games,
Shows how really thin the QB pool in the NFL is and always has been.
Every time a team has given him a shot as the starting QB he will have some good games but in the end fails.

Spot on.

One of the best .500 QB's in the NFL. He'll lead you straight to mediocrity hades.

I'd trust him to finish a game or even start one game if the starter went down. That is about it. If he had to make 2 or more starts during a season I'd expect average output at best.

he would cost too much in cap space to keep as a backup for what he would produce. He WILL NOT WIN YOU THE BIG GAMES.

Teddy Bridgewater similar . He looked ALL Pro against Dallas last yr had the lads down 30-0 it was so bad people toured the Art Gallery and looked away in horror . But somewhere somehow Bridgewater has that season ending injury like Tyrod Taylor has suffered.

Sure I want Dak to “ take off “ get a first down every now and then but I don’t want to see Cooper Rush either . Spend a 4 next yr get a young fresh out of college cap friendly clip board carrier with talent who can learn and actually come in and produce if need be .

Look at what the Giants had backing up Jones last year. As below average as Taylor is, he's way better than Jake Fromm and Giraffe neck Glennon.

Like Fitzmagic....

Another really good example. It bugs me to see JAGS like them make so much money when better players get the shaft.

Sometimes better players don't make better back ups especially at the QB position. The back up QB has to be able to set aside their ego and prepare themselves on minimal reps as we as provide support for the starter. Not every player is capable of doing that. And of course cost is a factor. Some quality is often sacrificed due to price.

Rush won the game he started.

I know and he looked good doing it . Didn’t turn the ball over . Threw the late TD to Cooper. I think Jimmy J coined the phrase “ churn the roster “ obviously this year it’s too late but at some point invest a pick in the draft on a young QB who may even push Dak into improving .

Hoping Grier wins the backup this year.

I didn’t even realize this . At West Virginia which has a good football program but it’s not high profile but Will Grier finished fourth in Heisman trophy voting . Believe he was a number 3 ( round ) pick in Carolina . The guys not a castaway .

Churn the roster . Maybe Rush can be stashed on the PS. Doesn’t matter how long you been in the league the rule changed . Try Grier as Daks understudy .
