It's a good thing our replacement for Tyron is already on the roster and starting at guard.

Tyler was drafted to be Tyron's replacement, he should have been at LT since day 1. Pick up in free agency or draft a guard to play LG.

Tyler needs to be put where he belongs and left there...

Yeah, sounds like a crick in the neck your describing. I would say Tyron got over that 6 years ago, so it's new to see on his injury report lately.
He actually missed almost all of the 2020 season due to neck surgery so it hasn't been that long.
No it isn't. He missed three games with it back in 2017. Neck problems are not uncommon when your job is slamming into other large powerful men. The good news is that they though they are unpredictable as to how long they will last they come and go without warning. You wake up one day with it and then one day you wake up and it's gone.
Exactly. It bugging him 2017-2019 is why he had neck surgery in 2020 missing most of the season. It's a terrible injury to have especially with the wear and tear of 150+ games played

Expect Tyron Smith to be injured on an ongoing basis -- he's been that for several years now. It's not going away. His time with this team may very well be cut short after this year. Let's be thankful for the good times he's given us and not fuss over what we already know he is and has been a real trooper for this team! You've gotta admire that.
You're right Bullflop, he's been a great LT and he truly has been a trooper for this team, but unfortunately the key words are "has been".
He has the heart, but his body just isn't there anymore.

He was back at practice Friday, but maybe limited some. See what happens today.

When he is starting Sunday, this will be 7 pages of the typical melt down.

If he doesn't, then 7 pages of justification.

Ironically I developed a crick in my neck about the same time Tyron did.. It still bothers me a little but I think I could go out and play a few snaps on Sunday if they needed me to!! LOL! Of course I'm 30+ years older than Tyron 7 inches shorter and about 120 pounds lighter so I wouldn't be much help at left tackle anyway!
