How long would Tyron have to train to become a champion MMA fighter?

I was watching some MMA the other day and I kept thinking that someday some NFL type freak athletes would get into this sport and dominate.

With those arms, he'd be hell to fight. I'd say you have to get inside that reach and grapple with him except he's probably more dangerous when he gets his hands on you, lol.

You'd have to be a pretty special athlete and really big to have much of a chance... assuming Smith can take a punch.

I doubt he'd have the stamina to get through a round; he'd need intensive training to handle those 5-minute rounds. NFL linemen are fine tuned for 6-7 seconds of work, followed by about 60 seconds of rest.

Herschel Walker tried it.

DeMarco Murray trains in it but probably won't compete till he retires and also Brandon Carr if I'm not mistaken...

Probably won't then either, being that's when all the pain starts, especially in professional athletes. It all catches up one way or another. So much for the so called Golden Years.

If he is locked up with someone on the ground, they're likely done.

They would have to try kicking him in the head to have a chance.

What if Butterbean was our LG. We wouldn't have to rely on Cooper and Green. Problem solved.

Lots of things work against him. He has no wrestling or kickboxing experience.

He would probably do as good as Conner McGregor would playing left tackle.

There are weight classes. He'd be fighting world class grapplers and strikers. Miocic would destroy him.

Matt Mitrione has been a better MMA fighter than NFL player.
