Tyron Smith Concern?

They better start looking for his replacement. His body has been in steep decline for a few years..

I find it odd so many folks here on CZ say his issues are purely technique related.

He just looks slow to me.

Is it time to admit Smith's no longer elite, he's looking bad out there.
he's 27. he's entering his prime and tackles can easily play into their 30's even if he had to move to the right side
when your'e hurt as a human being you won't function as well no matter what sport it is much less left tackle facing Jadeveon Clowney types
just like Jaylon last year, Travis in camp, Lee early this year, he could be playing through something it doesn't mean he isn't elite or that it's even his back or that it's career ending

could it be his back? yeah sure but we don't know
I wound't label him as not elite
we're spoiled to him dominating the most elite players like they were kids

It may be a combo, he does look a bit slower and stiffer than he used to, but it also may be the OL Coaching change and some changes in technique. No real way of knowing that.

I think tyron has been so injured that he hasn't been able to really work at his craft and put the time in at the gym during the off season. He doesn't look as strong or as quick.

He was having problems last year too so this isn't new. Like others said, bad backs don't get better.

The Cowboys can't acquire more than a couple of good players per year so the "window" is so different all over the team. Players that were good picks in years past get old as the Cowboys finally fill out other positions with good players.

And boy have they sucked at finding O-linemen since Emmitt got old! Emmitt made every guy they plugged in look great...but since that point, the Cowboys actually had to spend a 1st round pick on a O-lineman in order to get a good one. Other teams seem to be able to build an O-line with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks or lower....not the Cowboys.
