Just read on DMN that he said, ' I can't wait to get started" when talking about playing left tackle. Add him along with Sean Lee, and maybe Jason Garrett can be like Jimmy Johnson, and 'Turn the Thing Around'. Forgive me guys, but I couldn't help it! :)

For a rookie he was definitely very good. I think he'll do well on the left side.

He really is. The two best picks the Cowboys have made since Jimmy - Ware and Tyron.

I think Witten was a pretty great pick as well...

I would have to say the pick of Larry Allen in the second round of the 1994 draft was a fairly good one also.

Flozell Adams in 1998 is another, but I think Risen is efforting an indirect fire mission to put rounds on target indicated "Jones, Jerry" on tactical map grid "Dallas Cowboys; Owner/GM"

Whoa, Nelly! Let's give the kid more than one year before we anoint him.

The wisdom in this post will go undetected by most.

I just hope that he makes the conversion to the left side. He has never really played it. We could see a drop off in performance next seaosn while he adjusts. Then people will be saying he is a bust because we took him in the first and he didn't live up to potential.

just wait till he gives up the first sack on the left side.....half the board will want him moved back to the right or cut and labeled a bust......

we dont allow learning curves and growing pains in these parts....ask Lee and Dez

If he and Dez Bryant can ever live up to their potential, we'll be competitive for a long time with the right coaching.

I think Tyron will do us proud at LT, even though an initial drop off may occur, as you said. This, from Rainer Sabin @ ***BANNED-URL***, is good:

"I can't wait to get started," [Tyron] said. "I've already started a little bit of work on my own as far as position-stuff on the field."

That's not surprising to Houck, who said "this guy wants more and more and more work."

"I think his natural position is on the left side," Houck added. "I think just the way he sets, the leg strength that he has and the balance that he has, I think he will be outstanding on the left side."

Annointed he will become! Hey man, love your sig! Truly American and very much COWBOY in every sense of the meaning.

If Tyron is basically playing his initial position, and considering how well he did at RT, I can only imagine how well he will do at a position he is fairly comfortable with. With his work ethic and diligence, I highly doubt there will be much drop off, if any. Look for this guy to be a Pro Bowler come next year, and years to come!

Half this board hasn't a clue about football anyways. Nothing new.

Larry Allen disagrees

Not saying he's being anointed, but it's great to see young hard working players like Smith and Lee demonstrate a strong desire to work and get better without the 'diva' and 'entitled' attitude of being a Cowboy.

Yeah, Fletch, he certainly seems to be the real deal.

So glad to have him as a Dallas Cowboy and I'm excited to see his continued growth and improvement, applying that great desire and work ethic he has to his/our best advantage. Draft more like him, please.
