Tyron Smith - Lael Collins

Smith is still a top 5 LT and Collins had a big growth spurt as a RT last year.

Where did the Eagles duo land?

I'm not gonna sit her and act like I can accurately grade linemen but Collins and Tyron are both considered to be some of the best at their positions. Would make sense they'd be one of the best tandems.

Tyron has degressed to some slight extent in the last 2 years, while just the opposite is true for La'el. Put together as bookends, they're about as good as need be for any team to find success. Hopefully, their health holds out for a while yet and we'll get to brag on them for a while longer yet. With guys like Martin and Biadasz in the middle, it'll probably be tough to complain about our OL for some time to come. If that's not enough, the depth really appears to be extremely encouraging, as well. LG should be solid, also. Evidently, we'll be good to go, by all sane estimations.

Based on last season....going into this season on paper we have great starting tackles. The issue will always be Tyron. There is a myth out there that even if Tryon is playing injured he is better than 90 % of the tackles in the NFL. While at one point that may have been true it definitely is not true now. La'el is our best tackle based on last season and when healthy Tyron is right behind him.

2nd is alright.

Can La'el Collins be a franchise LT?
If so, when do you switch him and Tyron?

I got in my car coming home from the store the other day and Pat Kerwin and Jim Miller were listing their top 5 offensive lines. It was a short trip and they were taking their time getting through the list so I only heard their 5,4,3 teams. Their list included the 49ers, Rams, Colts (based on current rosters after offseason moves). Did anyone hear this segment, I was curious who #1 and #2 were on their lists.
