First off, I'm nowhere near getting over that debacle. That one hurt a lot. Trying to look for positives to get me past the deflated feeling. Sean Lee was clearly awesome and we certainly need young guys to step up like him. A lot of guys played well and showed heart. Unfortunately, we shot ourselves in the foot....again. Come to think of it, shouldn't Plaxico be playing for US? Seems like a natural fit.

Anyway, my hat is off to Tyron Smith. The 20 year-old (youngest player in the league) played through a knee injury, against a very good Jets D in a difficult environment and did, what appeared to be, a solid job. The kid is nowhere near polished or reaching his potential and he more than held his own (under very difficult circumstances). Like everyone on the OL, he had some mistakes but fought his way through the game and showed some real ability. If he was overwhelmed last night, and stunk it up, it wouldn't have been a total shocker (with injury, opponent, and inexperience factored in). He was a part of an offense that played well overall against a top D on the road. Some time and experience will get this guy to a truly special level. It was nice to say so many young players out there contributing last night. - T. Smith, Costa, Nagy, Harris, Murray, Lee, Lissemore, Church, McCann, McCray, some guy named Dez, etc.

I think it's "realistic" (OH NO HE DIDN'T) to think that this team, with this infusion youth, will improve as the season progresses. At least I really hope so...

I don't know what to make of the O-line performance. Romo was scrambling all evening and the O-linemen were getting pushed back a lot.

Plus we were in 2 TE formations to help the O-line! I have really high hopes for Smith, but, like all young O-linemen, he will need time to develop especially once there is game film on him. But I think he's farther along than I would have thought.

He sure is a physical specimen though, isn't he?

I agree, I cannot say enough good things about this Tyron. I am very proud of the way he came back from the injury and showed up. Can you imagine? 20 years old and playing in a game like that? Against that opponent? Protecting RTC?

I couldn't of said it any better. I was also impressed by the effort the team showed.

I hear you. I'm not doing backflips over the OL's performance. I'm not sure if Nagy and Costa are the real deal. Kosier is what he is. Our tackles look to be a strength for years to come. It's easier (theoretically) to find interior lineman than tackles, so hopefully we can continue to upgrade without too much difficulty. I just really like what Tyron showed under those circumstances. However, he is a work in progress.

Yes, none of them have reached their full potential yet and that's EXACTLY why I am so excited. Imagine two years from now. Tyron will only be 22 years old!

He played better than I thought he would. One false start. I don't pretend to know the blocking scheme but there were two plays that I saw where he helped Kosier double a defensive tackle and the man right in front of him rushed untouched. The result of each was Romo had to throw away the ball so at least he didn't get sacked. But it was a lost down.

With the 9th overall pick, the Dallas Cowboys select: EPIC WIN.

This kid isn't anywhere near as good as he will be. He put up decent showing last night for any right tackle in the league, but for a 20 year old kid who didn't have an off-season playing against a dominate defensive front in the Jets. He played out of his mind.
