He played outstanding, I thought, on JPP. Completely kept that mouthy butt out of the game.

T-Smith was owning all night. On the other hand, Free is embarrassing He let Tuck right on through without even trying to block..

Fred and Tyron need help in the worst way..

May have been the line call and the outside was the pick up from the RB.

On that play Murray missed his assignment. In fact, he missed the block on Cullen Jenkins' sack up the middle as well.

That wouldn't make any sense with Murray on the other side of Romo. Would have been almost impossible for him to get to Tuck even without the miscommunication.

He and Free have to get some Pro Bowl consideration this year.

Maybe based on the first half of the season but Free has dropped off a bit since then. Shame Madden isn't around. He'd praise Smith's play and it would be an automatic fan voting landslide

The way the line communicates the blocking pattern is what is done in advance.
Weather they go right or left in how they protect.

It's up to the RB to fill a gap not the o lineman.

From what I saw that one was on the RB.

Thay is why you always heard the announcers say Emmitt Smith was so good - he picked up the blitz no matter who was coming.

I get that, but asking DeMarco to get all the way over to an unblocked Tuck seems wrong, so it seemed to me like either it was the wrong line call, or Free just chose the wrong guy.

It is bizarre that we have so much trouble finding decent players at the easiest spots on the line to fill. That said, I'd rather be weak at guard and strong at the other spots than strong at guard and weak at a couple T/C positions. It should be a much easier problem to fix going forward. Doesn't mean it will be, of course.

On the block that Witten got a lot of credit for, Smith was the one who actually punched Pierre-Paul and got him off balance for Witten to finish off.

I saw that and said so at the time. Aikman praised Witten's block on JPP, but Smith had already shoved him 3 yards before turning to seal the inside. Smith got one and a half good blocks on that play. Tackles don't get many "wow!" comments, but that was a "wow!"
