One time Reggie White threw Larry Allen aside like a baby with one arm.

Other great players are gonna make plays sometimes ....

talk about catching a guy with his momentum going the wrong way. larry looked like a rag doll on that play

Romo had 7 seconds to throw on one play. You really got to give the O-line their props. JPP got Tyron on a few plays, but Tyron did his job overall.

If Tyron Smith is your 3rd best OL, you have a really good OL.

I disagree with anyone characterizing Tyron as having an "off year" - you need to remember, he is usually on an island against the top pass rusher on the other team. Romo almost NEVER throws the ball away. I think the expectations on the guy are unrealistic. He is awesome. You can't win/dominate on EVERY snap. He dominates on most, and does well on vast majority. Once in awhile the other guy wins a battle.......I have seen this same "Tyron struggles" sometimes too often this year - This guy is amazing. Now, so are the rest of the oline often. Martin has blown me away. Leary has stepped up, and Free has regained a ton of his original form... Sure, Tyron is gonna be beat on a play or two, all the best are and have been. But come-on the expectations remain a bit unrealistic on this board sometimes....

Was about to write this same post.

Martin is fantastic. Frederick is fantastic. Tyron is otherworldly.

We run best to the left. He handles the other team's best pass rusher. And he gets no help.

Playing inside is simply easier than playing against an edge rusher. He plays 50 snaps a game. People notice 3 when he loses a battle. Suddenly he's not our best lineman? And is struggling?

Stahp it.

You got Leary over Smith this year? I was thinking Martin, Fred, Smith, Leary, Free

I don't know If I would put Leary above Smith, but he's playing as well as any of the lineman. I think he's really under appreciated, with a lot of the attention going to the 1st rounders. Watch Leary play, he locks his man down and plays with a real nasty streak.

I don't think he is our best o-lineman at the moment. He's got ridiculous physical ability, but IMO he played better last season.

I thought Tyron played a good game, the holding call on the long ball to Dez hurt but going up against JJP is no easy challenge and for the most part while he may have lost a couple of battles he won the war on this night

I agree with this assessment. I'll take an off year of tyron over a good year for a whole lot of LTs.

People coming to his defense are great, but I think some pause needs to be set around it. Tyron is playing very well still, but if you consider 2013 his ceiling, then you can expect some seasons wont be up there. It isn't to say he is a poor player, just some work to be done.

For all of Romo's 2007, 2009, 2011 performances there are 2012, 2010, 2008 as well. Not bad, just not as good as the great seasons.

Things tend to be all or nothing around here. I think Tyron compared to other LT in the league he is performing at a higher level. This is still the NFL and the guys he will go up against are no slouches. You will not win every single battle in every game but overall he wins the war. I think he is pretty much a lock for Pro Bowl.
