Tyron Smith

That would be your conclusion, not mine. You don't know any more than anyone else who's guessing. There's a fine line between deciphering if it's physical or mental. Difficulty or reluctance in carrying out certain physical motions can easily be misleading. So can reading someone's mind.

Well.. Im not guessing.. Ive been watching the all 22 and I see him whiffing on blocks and going to the wrong spot.

I haven't seen game 3 but this was the case the first 2 weeks.

He has been pretty horrid this year. What's his deal? Is it:

1.) Nagging injuries?
2.) Complacency?
3.) Lack of motivation from the coaches?
4.) Declining skills?
I think it’s his back. They got to get a new franchise LT. Go watch some sack highlights......on one sack,a guy blew right by him to the outside and Dak never had a chance. That was enough for me.

He was out the last couple weeks of camp with a hamstring issue, but he hasn't shown up on any regular season injury report.

When he struggled in week one, I chalked it up to being rusty. But now I have some real concerns.

Can we get some examples? I don’t see Tyron as a turnstile, if anything, Dak is sometimes stepping up into the defender due to pressure coming from the other side.

"Horrid"? Really?

Does this board even have a reaction if it's not a gross overreaction?

Tyron has been a little stiff this year, but he's been far from horrid. It's not his fault the QB holds the ball too long, that the routes take all day to develope, that the QB has absolutely no pocket awareness...

This place is absolute madness right now. We have enough legitimate issues without people pulling stuff out of their *****.

FTR, Tyron has ALWAYS had issues with mental mistakes even when he was hands down the best LT in the game. He's had false start issues his entire career.

I totall agree. While all the OL can play better, Tyron has been far from horrid.

There aren't any. He's been a little more stiff this year and given up a few pressures and sacks he might not have a couple years ago, but he's hasn't been anything approaching "horrid". Dak has awful, down right atrocious pocket awareness. He takes himself into as many sacks as the OL allows. He took himself into two yesterday, including one some people tried to attribute to Tyron, even though he'd sealed the end off literally 5 yards from Dak, before Dak ran right to him.

The issue has been Collins and pushed up the middle.

I said years ago he was only a little better than Free and was dismissed. But he is playing as if injured. I think his back is bothering him. His posture looks like it. His base is too broad and he's too slow. Not near the Tyron of old.

So you're telling me when he was in his prime, you thought he was barely better than Free? No wonder you were dismissed lmao.

He's still dismissed. I liked Free and was one of the few who stood up for him, but on one leg Tyron is a better player. This is just throwing **** at the wall and hoping it sticks.

He's not playing well, for his past skill level. Whatever it is, something's up.

Not performing at an all-pro level, but still a top 10 LT. Hopefully he rebounds soon. He is young, only 27.

Maybe Dallas can salvage a few extra years out of him by moving to RT, send Collins back to guard and draft a stud LT soon.

I don't know the answer, just spit-balling here :muttley:

You should. He's playing bad right now. It's a legitimate concern.

No, Tyron hasn't been "horrid".

That said Tyron Smith is paid handsomely by the Cowboys, to the tune of a $17.5m cap hit this season, to be the best of the best.

He has looked pretty average to me since about the mid point last season when his back started acting up all the way through today.

At some point the front office is going to have to decide whether Smith is capable of playing up to that massive contract next season and beyond.
