Tyron Smith

I feel bad for Tyron

He plays with severe neck pain for 3 seasons because him along with the front office believe it's there window to win now (surgery recovery is long enough to where you have to miss at least half a season + there's no guranteed your career isn't over by having it).

He finally has surgery, it works, and he comes back and plays at an all-pro level.

Then he gets injured because his own teammate crashes into his ankle.

I swear this guy is cursed

They took a big picture approach with Smith this week. Yes, it would have been great to win, but they want him right for the long haul instead of rushed back too soon to beat an AFC team.
Is he available for the next AFC team this Thursday? Big picture (#1 seed) guys will have to play. Big picture he can rest if they wrap it up by week 16-17. They can't keep sitting guys out this o line has to gel

I wouldn't trade him but finding his replacement with a high draft pick ( 2nd or 3rd round ) should be a priority. In other words, draft flex LT, Steele to RT, and trade Collins.

Outside of last season, Smith never missed more than 13 games and most often than not, they benched him the last game of the season for rest.

Nah. No re-think. Off-season I trade his broken down ***.
lol yeah and then have 0 HOF LTs still performing at a high level on your team. This is why you should only play Madden and let adults trained to run professional football franchises make those decisions.

They should have found a RT, played Collins at LG, and groomed CW to be the swing OT. Williams played LT at Texas and his mobility would be better served there (and his average strength wouldn’t be as big of a problem).

Nope. You get a guy that you can count on from week to week and plan accordingly to his strengths and weaknesses. So you don’t have to scramble to find a solution when Tyron takes his yearly sabbatical.

Or...

You could just keep your HOF LT and ensure you have quality depth lmao

Like we’ve been doing?
No because we DON’T have quality depth right now.

So instead of doing something only an imbecile would do, and trade away your HOF LT who, before his injury was playing at a 1st team all Pro level, address the depth issue.

It’s the easier solution.

It is very frustrating that Smith is not playing again, especially after the messaging all week that he would play today. I don't know what the issue is but I am not buying the bone spurs BS.

In any case, the plan was to back up Smith with Nsekhe, then as soon as Smith gets hurt, the move Steele to LT where he has never played. Why is Nsekhe on the roster? I just hope they did not break the OL by moving Steele out of a position where he was playing well.

Smith might have helped a little today, but he would not have been blocking Chris Jones. Jones had a field day with Biadasz and McGovern, and even Martin on one play. I do think the crowd noise had something to do with that as the OL was not getting a good jump on the snap. They simply were not ready for the crowd noise.

hum, I thought it was a stone bruise with one ingrown toenail. rough stuff, I bet he's wanting to get restricted and wants some of stats prescott money.

the same Steele that was manhandled in both Broncos and the chiefs game, and gave up a sack fumble because he didn’t even get out of his stance? Brilliant idea

I usually don’t go overboard on a player, but I believe we need to trade Tyron while he still shows that he’s a top tier OT. Let someone else have to reshuffle the line every time he can’t be a go for whatever ails him. The boys can’t continue to rely on him. Fetch a 2nd round pick.

So we trade Tyron and then permanently have an issue at LT?? Check the CAP, we wont be able to replace him in free agency. Depending on who's available at our 1st round pick we may look to drafting a LT there, or later on with a development player (like Josh Ball this year).....as these prospects mature then can spot for Tyron.

Tyron's the best we've got and proved (when on the field) that he's still one of the best in the league.

The situation is that resting Tyron vrs the Chief's is the sensible thing to do, better that he plays against divisional rivals and is fit for the play-offs.

It's better to spot start him and get him 100% (ish) rather than playing him like Jaylen with a chronic injury?

An AFC team that we could pencil in a loss for and still win the division comfortably. You don't win them all. We lost to the SB teams, though we made it closer against Tampa.

Maybe some of you should pay more attention to what players say. Tyron said he was ready to play and was held out by the team.
