He's actually played very well off the stat sheet these last cpl of games. His bull rush on these RTs is giving their Oline a hard time and setting up a lot of stunts for the D line. His penetration has been very good as well.

He's also playing the run with a lot of strength but very underwhelming getting off blocks.

As long as Stephen Jones isn't overpaid while managing these things, I'm good.

I think he's a better SDE than 3T. The money is what it is at this point. Play him at his most effective position and be done with it. I think it's a SDE.

I see him break through the line he just hasn't got there to be noticed on the stat sheet and might not be as consistent as you'd like.

I don't get why people worry about what these guys are getting paid

It's not your money

And right now the team is winning

Because I want to pay better players.

He's not real productive but he's not real expensive for a defensive lineman. Given the juggling we'll likely have to do to move on from Romo, I'd just stop worrying so much about player salaries.

This season should make it crystal clear the cap distribution isn't and hasn't been the problem. His contract didn't keep us from doing anything.

Crawford is playing out of position(i.e. Nolan Ryan playing catcher or shortstop) and his demeanor allows his ego to take the hit for the team, much like Greg Ellis did for the cowboys back in the late nineties. All pro playing out of position to cover weaknesses in other area's of the Dline. Crawford did not create the situation of the defensive line and he has without excuses done what the coaches want. If we had two real DE's I think this line of thought would be mute.

He wanted to move away from DT.

He wanted to move away from DT.

I don't remember him saying it exactly like this but, I was definitely left with the impression that his body was not liking the physical toll of playing DT.

the guy who is playing out of position is Collins, why is he plating 1 tech? he is getting doubled and its not not his strength.he is a better fit at 3 tech imo.

If Crawford planned to be the strong end in the offseason he would have lost a few lbs and worked on his pass rush moves. He prepared to play the 3 and now he is mostly at the 5. I like his position flexibility.

He'll get better at LDE and end up in Tony Tolbert territory. I'm guessing 8 sacks this year.

Good solid player but got too much money.

Oh well..

We still need him.

Marinelli gave up trying to rush Rodgers yesterday and just went with a 3 man pass rush and let a LB come in delayed on a blitz if he wanted to run.
