... was expecting better. He seems a bit plodding, and indecisive. He gets a mulligan but, I thought he would fare better tonight.

Hamilton was outstanding in both run support and pressure. I also liked Baraka Atikins but he did get pushed aside a few times.

Mc Surdy is a sure tackler but was a step late all night.

Really liked Lionel Smith, Whitley and CJ Wilson wasn't horrible either. Taplin Ross I need to see more of...

I really liked Geathers and Brent was quality. Bass looks like he might be a player, but most of his plays presented themselves to be made with assignment football, which he played.

Overall this was a good defensive effort, showing depth and quality and scheme confidence.

I'm not worried about this kid, he's going to be a play maker. Adrian Hamilton is the guy I like!

Atkins was not very good, he played indecisively, hesitant and outmatched. Think he was 1 for 4 on sack attempts, overran a play twice, and watched his teammates tackle on three different occasions. I will be shocked if he makes it past the first cut.

Crawford is a work in progress. He is still very raw and inexperienced for an NFL player.

I don't know that I'd describe him as plodding. He did have trouble closing on Prior but so do mostly players who weigh 80 pounds less than him.

He flashed a fair bit in that game.

I don't think he is ready to start but no one is expecting him to do so in his rookie campaign. I want him to be in the DL rotation and nothing from tonight suggests he won't be able to do it. He looked worlds better than Geathers who was badly outplayed by Spears and Bass. Geathers is the guy who we have been waiting for the light to turn on - hopefully he continues to make strides but this will be his 3rd year with the team now so we need to see some ability in games by now if we're going to keep him on the 53-man roster.

Crawford played about as well as you can for a rookie in his first NFL game. He actually faced numerous double teams to slow him down. He was disruptive and was constantly chasing the ball. You guys need to stop looking at numbers and pay attention to where he lines up and how he plays.

I expected better but when you put it in perspective this is his first live action in the NFL. He will get better as he gains more experience and gets comfortable with the pace.
