this is what the giants board has to say.

I think this is the match-up that could cause us problems against the Cowboys. Smith was an outstanding rookie last season at RT, and if he translates well to LT he could really cause problems for the G-men. I think the battle between he and JPP will be epic; but I think JPP can win that most of the time. What worries me is when Osi's in the game against Smith. If I'm sitting in Jason Garrett's shoes and I see that match-up, I'm going to send DeMarco Murray that way a lot. I think Osi loses this battle on running plays 9 times out of 10. If the Boys can start chewing up the clock, and establish a running game it could be bad news for us. Murray is a dangerous enough runner, if he gets outside on Osi, he's going to chew up a lot of yards. I hope Perry Fewell has something up his sleeve to counter this situation. All the pass rushing DE in the league don't do you any good if the offense is running over top of you.

no one can block JPP idc how good you are. He's just too fast, strong, and big to block with one person... especially a second year tackle playing LT for the first time.

Smith is a good young tackle but the difference in power and athleticism between him and JPP is considerable. I don't think it makes a difference really, specially when our DE's move around a lot. He can deal with OSI half the time while we rush Tuck from inside. Or overload him with both OSI and JPP and then see how he handles that.

What do you think?

I think JPP is good and all but he beats people more with power than speed. He doesn't have demarcus ware speed around the edge but he has long arms and power that give people fits. They said robert quinn gave smith fits, he might of but quinn is faster than JPP.

i've seen JPP line up on the right side quite a few times this preseason. his power rush and inside move can give free problems. i'm less concerned about smith.

 the giants don't do this

I've seen the same thing also. I think they are thinking that keeping JPP on the defensive left helps them in the running game because alot of teams are right handed when they run the ball.

I hope Garrett takes advantage of that with Livings and Smith on the left side. That kinda size and matchup there can really make this team unpredictable.

JPP is probably the second best pass rusher in the league behind DeMarcus Ware. Of course he'll cause problems. We may need to double team.

Too funny! I just read that on the Giants board about 10 minutes ago and it's the first time I've ever even been on that board. Guess I'm not the only one who can't wait to get this thing going. Got an even bigger kick out of the thread about Garrett disrespecting Martellus Bennett in reference to this article with it's gems like these:

Jomo
Garrett proves with these comments that Princeton has a lower academic admissions standard for its football players. I'd love to hear more from this "brilliant" young coach between now and Wednesday.

or this one

Wow I guess he was a complimentary player in Dallas but Jason Garrett just sound bitter that we are giving him praise with Witten and Romo not there to hold him back the black unicorn will be in seek and destroy mode. Dallas fans will be sorry they let him go, I think he has the potential to be better then Witten. To me Dallas never gave him a chance, remember Bennet is not the only one that said he wasn't able to show his full abilities T.O. said it too about Romo playing favorites. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Bennet will be a top 5 TE this year.

I am alot more concerned about Free vs who ever lines up over there.

hmmm jared allen is pretty good. I think JPP is top 5 but he seems alittle overhyped. Kind of like how clay mathews was last year. He had one good year so far lets see he do it again before we crown him. Jared Allen and ware has been doing it for a while.

That post about Bennett is hilarious. Vagiant fans wouldn't have given Bennett the time of day over the past 3 years, but now that he's on their roster, he's a top 5 TE in the league. You can't make that up. Stupidity at its finest.

Not the best 4-3 end in the division.

Watch this it's a JPP low/high light video against the Cowboys and watch Smith go against Tuck/JPP/Osi. Smith isn't a problem. Free? He's in trouble :D

the first sack around 46 second mark seemed more like a bad line call/ communication by the line. 75 and costa double team blocks the DT, 75 left the linebacker 94 for felix who tries to cut him but didn't do a real good job. Free had JPP blocked but romo moved out of the pocket and right into the hands of JPP. That play wasn't free's fault at all.

Another thing I noticed is the giants killed us with stunts and twist by the d-line. Our guards just failed to see them. No wonder we went and got 2 new guards lol

2:52 mark is vintage romo...he dodged so many sacks lol

another thing I noticed. Tyron smith is strong. We he got his hands on his man #Over

A couple things I noticed... Tyron played really well in those clips and Costa wasn't bad at all.

Well, Ware was quoted as saying that Smith is just one of a few players that when he locks on to you, you are not going anywhere...and this is from Ware.

Smith is practicing against probably the best/fastest pass rusher in the NFL...so, he's learning. He will miss a block here or there, but I doubt he's going to be beat many times.

Prepare to get skewered for your Costa comments.

we had dockery starting:eek:

I think we will fare better this year. We are alot stronger at the guard position. Kosier and dockery to Livings and Berny.
