Falcons are releasing OT Tyson Clabo today and going to list it as a post-June 1 cut for salary-cap purposes.

Didn't the Cowboys have interest in him before we re-signed Free in 2011?

To be honest, I thought your post was going to be about some new resort spot.

Ehh he's better than what we have but I'd rather have Winston or Ryan Harris.

Anybody know if Clabo is better suited for a power or zone blocking scheme?

More of a power guy at 6'6 329. Atlanta didn't do much zone

Ryan Harris is an elite LT and not a possibility.

With Clabo, Winston, and Andre Smith all on the market the Right Tackle position is loaded and there should be a bargain available. Doug Free should be begging for the team to let him restructure and take a pay cut.

How much of a paycut would Free be willing to take? Vet min? I still think we need a tackle but to be #4 on the depth chart and wanting to stay would be ok with me. But only at the Vet min and as our #4 tackle.

Or else cut him.

I get the impression the club thinks Free is better than that but I'm guessing. Restructuring would be a good idea for him though.

I would give Free a week to decide if he wants to take a pay cut or be looking for a job behind a bunch of FA tackles much better than he.

There is nothing elite about Harris. He was cut by the Broncos in 2012 at the end of camp and the Texans started him in two games because of injury. He's a minimum contract guy that might be a decent swing OT.

My bad, screwed up Harris with Clady. I'm prejudiced in that all Denver Offensive Tackles named Ryan look alike to me.

Huh? How is Ryan Harris an elite LT, or a LT at all for that matte? He's strictly a RT in a zone blocking scheme. He made 800k last year, he'll certainly get a raise but we shouldn't have a problem fitting him under the cap.

Someone beat me to it, but I think Harris is finally healthy after a back injury in Denver and could be a very nice option for us at a cheap price. He played well for Shannahan in the ZBS early in his career as well.

Is there another signing that would change the outlook of this franchise for the draft and coming season more than a starting Olinemen...especially a starting OT.

So pretty much hes in Parnell's class of a player, albeit with more expierence.

I know he is older, but I'm pretty surprised Atlanta kept Baker at around at $7million and are cutting Clady at $4.5.

I can't say I watched him closely, but clearly that Atlanta o-line has been light years better than ours in run and pass blocking. Ryan is not running for his life like Romo who has to be a ninja/jedi to get a pass off without getting killed.

On NFL Total Access they said Clabo is a June 1st designated cut. Also Rapoport said that Clabo has already heard from Jags and COWBOYS.
