I'm actually surprised that our UDFA group so far doesn't include one or two. Check that: I'm not surprised because it no longer surprises me when the Joneses do something that seems illogical.

They just seem to make huge obvious blunders that ruin seasons.

There does seem to be a pattern of neglecting positions that seem in obvious need of help to fans. I'm not talking about fans being irrational, because we get a lot of that, but areas where it bears out that the obvious need was truly a need.

I don't know if that will be the case here. Pollard was one of the top backs in the league last year before his injury. Ronald Jones has been good before. Davis showed a little something that might can be developed into more. And Vaughn is an exciting back who may not be limited by his size. Potential is there for a pretty strong group, but it's only potential.

I mean, last year we were talking about Washington possibly being better than he was at Pittsburgh because of not really getting a chance and having a QB that didn't play to his strengths and Tolbert being a really good third-round choice. And we saw how that turned out at receiver when we also had a starter coming back from injury.

Those types of parallels concern me.

2017 when Zeke got suspended was a perfect example. They were woefully unprepared for his possible absence.

Its like it caught them off guard. And the horrid Garrett just played Morris like he was Zeke.

The morris Chaz Green debacle.

We were picking later than usual and it showed. Let's hope our crop of UDFAs were exceptional. This was definitely a ho-hum effort, imho.
