Would be cool, the backup rb room is wide open, but it's such a low probability he makes it and there's probably dozens of backs that showed more in college still available.

Still though, Emmitt is my favorite Cowboy ever so I'm 100% for it.
I’d rather sign the other A&M running back instead. Le’Veon Moss is super talented. Just couldn’t stay healthy in College Station.

Michael Trigg is a interesting TE prospect for us. Dude is physical with the ball in his hands and came make some crazy catches but he did have drop issues this season.

I would love Trigg to kick Schoonmaker off the roster lol But I am sure with Schoonmaker being a 2nd rounder (waste) they will probably keep him. And Schoonmaker is a better blocker than Trigg but Trigg is a better pass catcher, weapon and YAC ability.

Some names I feel should have been drafted and are strong UDFA candidates in my opinion:

Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU
Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma
Michael Trigg, TE, Baylor
Isaiah World, T, Oregon
Deontae Lawson, LB, Alabama
Nadame Tucker, EDGE, Western Michigan
Mason Reiger, EDGE, Wisconsin
I hope the Cowboys go sign T Isaiah World (6'8", 312 lbs) from Oregon. He's got very good talent and ability. He definitely would be worth signing as an UDFA because of our O-Tackle issues of late.

Apparently there are whispers of off field issues.

Trigg went undrafted because he is a weird and doesn't gel with teammates, not sure how that will change in the NFL but he is UDFA so worth it i guess.

Think people. You can't get a role on a 53-man roster for this offense if you can't run block. They've obviously taken a flier on this kid, believing there's potential they can coach him up for a year (or more) on the practice squad, and assuming he can mature otherwise, potentially evolve into an asset. This isn't going to displace any of the current TEs on the roster. It just isn't. If you want to see new blood there, you're going to have to hope there will be some team cutting someone loose very soon due to having drafted a TE they expect to keep.

Just looking at Bill Jones' shopping list, he's missing the FA signing of former Pitt and NYJ speed demon Israel Abanikanda for 2026. Yes, he was a late season PS add, but they must have liked what they saw since they did decide to bring him back. I think that completes the RB room.

Still could stand to add one more LB, even if only for training camp depth purposes. Me, I'm wondering if they won't give strong consideration to trying Sam Williams as a ILB. He has the size and speed.
