Signed by Cowboys UDFA signings

Signing all of these local Texas prospects shows you how lazy the Cowboys are. They do this every year TCU Texas Tech, etc. it’s a big world out there.
It’s because local prospects don’t count against the 30 visit limit. They know the players better.

It's a similar pattern with other teams with UDFAs as well. A lot of them choose to sign close to home once they are not drafted.

Langston Patterson LB Vandy signed with Dallas. Heard the news from my daughter-in-law who is a HS friend of his.
If true
Pro Day: HT: 6004 | WT: 229 | HD: 0918 | ARM: 3078 | WS: 7538 | 40-YD: 4.66 (1.50) | BP: 20 | VJ: 36” | BJ: 10-2 | SHTL: 4.40 | 3C: 7.38

Evaluation: A dominant force in the Vanderbilt linebacker room, Patterson showcases sideline-to-sideline range and elite blitzing ability shine, with a devastating speed-to-power pass-rush move. Patterson’s closing speed is exceptional, whether shooting gaps or chasing down ball carriers. In pass coverage, he displays sharp read-and-react instincts, hitting landmarks with precision. Areas for growth include hand usage. While effective with speed-to-power in pass-rush and blitz scenarios, he needs a better plan to deploy counter moves. In run defense, Patterson often slips blocks but must refine his hand techniques to consistently shed blockers when engaged. A projected undrafted free agent, Patterson will be tough to cut once inside the facility.

Background: American Bowl participant. Consistent, tough, athletic, gets after it, sneaky athletic. Times 21 mph consistently on catapult. Self-aware leader, smart, effective communicator, and great speaker. Pulls guys aside, high character.

Stats: Played 13 games in 2025, made 69 tackles, one and a half tackles for loss, one forced fumbles. In 47 career games, had 226 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two pass reflections, one interception

Jerry Jones addresses those who wish he would step down as the Cowboys GM -- and why Dallas has made such dramatic changes this offseason (specifically on defense):

"When you look at it, it's the only way you can go if you're not going to step down.
And I'm not going to do that.
So, you've got to change it. You've got to change that mirror...
I wish everybody everywhere could see the way we make a decision -- and that they'd quit worrying so much about me sitting there."

Also swept a question about the 30 year drought under the rug by saying each year is unique unto itself and that "we have done some great things".

Despite not reaching a conference championship game since Dak was 3 and every player they just drafted was around ten years away from even being born.

That's because there's no genuine way to respond to that. Even Jerry knows that any GM with that track record would have been fired long ago and never get another NFL job.

CBS UDFA tracker updates pretty quick. I like what the Falcons and Vikings have done so far if they hold on to those players.

Isaiah World might be good back up tackle to peak at if he hasn’t signed. Oregon Oline was a good unit and he started at LT a lot last year

Listen I am going to go hometown with my UDFA wish and it's UConn QB Joe Fagnano.

A bit of a game manager but he had a 28-1 TD to pick ratio last season. Yes, he faced a very weak schedule but he has very good backup QB traits.
Ah he went to the Ravens. Which is odd because his playstyle is completely different than Lamar Jackson.
