I hope Lesnar has improved his striking because if he gets in the ring with a fighter who has good boxing skills and take down defense, he's toast. He "turtles" when bombarded by punches, the mark of an inexperienced boxer or someone not accustomed to standing in there and taking a punch.

But I agree with you, if he gets his mitts on you and takes you to the ground, it would be like trying to extricate yourself from underneath a mountain.

Hunt is/was an elite striker with good takedown defense.

He WAS an elite striker. The problem with the UFC is the same with boxing. At some point, whether too many fights or Father Time, a fighter isn't as fast and as precise as he used to be.

If Hunt were in his prime, he destroys Lesnar. But Hunt has taken one too many punch to even his iron cranium. He's just not the same fighter he once was.

Lesnar isn't anywhere near his prime, either. He barely competed in the sport before taking 5 years off and having multiple surgeries.

But he hasn't endured the beating Hunt has taken in the same time span.
Be that as it may, Brock won so you have that in your favor. I just have never been impressed with him as a MMA fighter. Fast, big, imposing? Yes. He wins fights that way, and all you have to do is win. But I don't see him as a very technical fighter.

He's not. Like I said, this was a throwback to ufc around the year 2000.

He's not a technical fighter. I don't know that I've ever seen anyone try to claim he was. lol

Brock is just a beast of an athlete and man and he uses the tools that he is great with (Size/speed/strength combination) to win and dominate his opponents. When he's healthy, motivated, and ready he is a tough guy to deal with because of that wrestling ability and that size and strength.

Like we've both said already when he gets you down, and gets ahold of you, it's basically game over. You're not going to be able to move him off of you.

But if he's foolish enough to stand and try to bang (Or if his opponent simply has fantastic takedown defense) it's always going to be a very long day for Brock. It's all about rather he's healthy enough to be able to truly use the few strengths he has at his disposal.

I think Lesnar is a unique physical specimen the likes of which MMA hasn't been witness to before, at least in his weight class.

Considering how far the UFC has evolved into a technical MMA fight game speaks to how physically dominating a guy like Lesnar is to step into a ring with a world-class jiu jitsu guy like Frank Mir and destroy him with brute force.

Fair enough.

Well, Frank Mir did submit him the first time. But I see your point.
