As some of you know, I moved to Houston a few weeks ago and I have had to suffer through their talk radio here (610 especially).

I have never seen such ***** envy. Every segment of radio here sees the Cowboys mentioned in someway (usually negative) and all they care about is hating on Dallas here.

They do not even try to act like they have good reasons to do so...they harped on the TO interview on HBO today and about how his contract gave him the permission to create more havok, completely ignoring the real aspects of the contract.

They had several listeners call in today taking bets on whether or not the Texans would win more games than the Cowboys this year and the host had to apologize to the listeners for saying that Dallas would win more games.

It got even better when Cowboys fans would write and call in basically making them look like fools, but they were mocked as being "typical Cowboys fans". I tried to call in to point out that "typical Cowboys fans" make nothing but sense and to not try to fool the public with lies and gorilla dust, but they would not let me on the air claiming I was a homer who knew nothing of the game...

I have never seen such a big city with such a small town mentality. I drop to my knees and thank GOD every day that my old Austin radio is streamed online so I can listen to it at home.

I always knew it was bad here in Houston, but you fellow Cowboys fans who had to suffer all these years, my hat goes off to you.

Get used to it... Houston is chock full of Cowboy fans, but the ones that aren't are literally obsessed with the Cowboys...

It's quite sad really...

I used to be able to pick up WBAP 820 when Randy Galloway was on all the way down in San Antonio, but only during the night hours. It was nifty getting my Cowboys fix on a local radio.

I also used to be able to pick up WOAI 1200 from San Antonio when I was in Houston, and get my Spurs and Cowboys fix at once in a different city.

You can always listen online but try at night to see what you can get, you'd be surprised. I do know the Ticket isn't powerful enough to go anywhere but Dallas. I don't know much about the new ESPN sports station.

I used to be able to pick up Cowboys games here in Houston when I would visit...something like 1500 am or something like that.

I guess I am screwed this year since I don't have Direct TV...looks like I will have to search the internet for a stream of cowboys games that I will miss.

Yeah... WBAP goes a LONG way... I once worked a week in Nashville and was picking up Galloway (though faintly) every night...

Welcome to my world....

Anyway, 610 sucks and you are spot on about the "penile" envy thing. It's rampant here.

Listen to ESPN 790. It's ESPN radio until 3 and then local with Charlie Pallillo who is actually very good. No hate at all on the 790 shows.

As far as watching the Cowboys, they will be on EVERY game except when the Texans are at home and play the same time as the Cowboys (that's an NFL blackout rule). I'm not sure how many times that will happen this season, probably not much.

And you can always sports bar it -- they'll be on for sure. There are TONS of Cowboys fans in Houston. Try Buffalo Wild Wings.

I remember an article in the Houston newspaper last year talking about how the Texans and the Cowboys were at the same talent level. I laughed then and laughed harder by the end of the season.

I think the furthest I ever picked up were St. Louis and Atlanta stations, while based in Texas. I guess I'm not too exciting. I find it fun to slowly turn the AM dial at night and see which stations I can pick up. :D

Man, the early 2000s had to be hard on you with the Eagles success and our struggles.
