Last night, I dreamt that the Cowboys somehow landed my pet cat (Lane Johnson), but for some reason I couldn't watch, so I had to follow updates on my phone. How sad is it that I'm already having draft dreams?

Funny you mention this, I get the same especially in the days right before the draft. Last year I kept dreaming that we would draft Poe. Horrible nightmares

Funny, I often have a nightmare where we don't draft Claiborne and Scandrick has to start over half the season for an oft injured Jenkins. *shudders*

Dallas wasn't going to draft ol with either of the first 2picks, both were going to be defensive, brockers nd the lb seahawks drafted were the rumored guys we would have taken.

i know

people who dont know that CBs picked in the second round like casey heyward and janoris jenkins actually performed better than claiborne do have those sorts of nightmares

pretty funny, just 'boohoo' funny not 'haahaa' funny

Considering Jenkins was picked before we picked in the second, I'd say you're really reaching to make a silly point. I also think it is hilarious that you bring up the performance of other CBs but NOT the linemen available at our pick. DeCastro and Riley didn't play much, so I'm happy with our selection of a franchise CB who started the entire season as a rookie.

I who self admitted gator fan, absolutely love jenkins, felt he really was the best corner last yr, but his knuckle headed mistakes would never allowed him to be drafted by garrett. From what I read jenkins made more splash plays but was way inconsistent in coverage. As for heyward, I still think his season was an aberration, I think he'll be average at best. Im really ok with the mo pick nd think he nd carr will be monsters for us.

this is wrong on so many levels

obviously, heyward was taken way after our second round pick. no debate there because we would not have needed to trade up for him.

jenkins was taken 39 and we had pick #45, so i guess we can trade up in round 1 (at the cost of a second round pick) but cant do the same in round 2 (at much lower cost most likely)? yeah, that makes perfect sense.

making the argument that DeCastro "played very little" because of injury is non-sensical. no way to predict injuries. so if claiborne had got injured that would have been a bad pick by your definition. and who is to say that decastro would have got hurt if he had come to the cowboys?

I will never consider arguments that would should have traded up. Sorry, but there are way too many variables there. And I didn't give you my definition of a "bad pick," I said you can't bring up the performances of other drafted CBs but ignore the performances of the lineman you covet. And that point remains, as does the point that this thread has nothing to do with your irrational hatred of Claiborne, but please feel free to inundate other posts with your overwhelming negativity.

i actually think claiborne is a very good player (please find one of my posts that indicate i "hate" him)

this is obviously not the correct forum to explain the idea of "opportunity cost" to someone so i wont, but that is the point

i did not derail this thread, you did, i was just making a remark about my dream in the same way the OP had

unfortunately your homerism could not handle it so you got yourself in a bind

no harm done

Haha, yes, I'm sure your post was truly meant to relate a draft related dream. Good show.

On a tangent, I don't get how a top 15, maybe a top 10 draft pick can be a pet cat.

I thought pet cats were sleepers, guys that not everybody knew about.

I understand pet cats to be, homer pic, favorite guys regardless of team needs or wants. I think sleepers nd pet cats are different although some petcats can be sleepers but it's not a must.
