Personally, I don't care if he uses profanity or not. I doubt any body does. More power to him if he wont say those words. My problem lies with him criticizing other people for it and saying he wouldn't give them a job based on if they swear or not. Especially when HIS QB has one of the most profanity filled vocabularies in the league.

Judging people for weather or not they swear is such an ignorant thing to do.
If Dungy doesn't want to use cuss words I don't think anyone has a problem with. He should just not cuss and keep it to himself.

I don't think so. If you don't think employers judge their employees based on their language in the workplace, then I'm willing to bet that a professional career is not either your disposition nor in your future.

Dan Patrick asked Dungy the question and Dungy gave his opinion Dungy did not come right out and attack Ryan He answered the question Dungy main problem with Ryan was that he was using the language in a forum where kids would be watching Warren Sapp called in to the radio station and said that Dungy allowed his players to be men but they were to act professional in the public Ryan own mother called him out after she watched Ryan on Hard Knocks

no that is not all Dungy did.

Dungy sent the ultimate insult amongst the coaching ranks. These men make a living with relationships in coaching and amongst the players.

When a guy who so many respect goes on a National radio show and declares I WOULD NOT HIRE him, that is about as serious as it could possibly be.

That is Dungy tarnishing Rex Ryan and for what? A few F-Bombs. Woop de doo its a private practice field that HBO is there to film. HBO Is a pay station and they air the show at 10 eastern.

It is absolutely ludicrous would say he wouldnt hire ryan because of his language, its the way the guy talks, he Obviously isnt going to talk to someones children or the fans that way so he did nothing wrong.

Just like all of us here who have played sports, coaches get mad, coaches swear etc etc etc......But they dont nor did ryan cross any line and go and insult someones wife or family by talking this way in front of them.

THe entire staff was as bad as him this week. Who cares, I bet 90% of the coaches in the league talk that way.

Dungy is a complete hypocrite on many topics. Mostly for attempting to make ryan look like some bad human being and say he wouldnt hire him, which is a really really crappy thing to do. And number 2 he had no problem hiring howard Mudd, ever hear that guy talk?

Its complete insanity and that is why I brought it up again, this guy can go on national radio and say something so bad about ryan that he wouldnt hire him for something 90% and probably more of the coaches do. Its just words, its just his way of talking.

I dont like rex ryan at all but this judging of him as a person is beyond wrong but unfortunately no one has come to his defense which is wrong. Dungy should have actually apologized for saying he wouldnt hire him.

I think everyone is in agreement you dont go to the grocery store and stand in the cereal aisle and talk that way and I doubt ryan does, and I think everyone realizes you dont do this in an office atmosphere.......But this isnt that and to say he isnt a pro because he swears on HIS practice field and in HIS meetings is insane.

I really look forward to the day dungy decides to leave nbc and retire completely from the nfl.

Same thing you said - apples and oranges. You can't be hypocritical about it. So what, Dungy wouldn't hire him, but you would. It doesn't matter. No need to call for him to be fired or leave football.

And for the record, no, I wouldn't hire someone either that used unprofessional language in a professional setting. Sometimes profanity is necessary to get a point across. Having it be a normal part of your dialogue is not necessary, in my opinion.

Would have sucked if jerry used this same philosophy and didnt hire jimmy or all of his staff. Turner, wandstedt, campo etc...all talk this way on the field.......but just like ryan when speaking in public which is where you could be critical of him none of them do or did.

and I am not being hypocritical towards dungy I dont think he should be fired or whatever you are trying to say, I just dont like him and will be happy when he walks away from nbc's broadcast.

This is the most intense physical sport in the world, having a few f-bombs is the least of anyones worries. Dungy can not like his language and that is fine, but he was way off and was wrong to say he wouldnt hire him for it......That could affect ryan down the road and that is wrong.

Dungy would have been an hypocrite if he would have answered the question any other way I don't know why Dan Patrick asked the question to begin with Dan already knew how Dungy would answer Dungy was asked and said how he felt I don't see the problem with it People around the league know Ryan they don't need to listen to what Dungy says about him Which is why a couple of teams passed him over in the past Ryan was just not for them Not to say that he is a bad guy just not for them

Bringing his son's death into this is messed up 10 eastern is 7 pacific Kids shouldn't watch the Boondocks but they do
