Dang man I'm so sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. My buddy Joe just had one of these procedures recently and he said it's nothing. The drinking the white chalky stuff is easily the only really tough part. So you'll be fine.

The chalky white stuff (Barium) is the easy part compared to the gallon of clear liquid laxative that you have to drink.

Thanks, Dbrave and Otero. I got it done today. I was saying I felt great yesterday and same for today. The clear stuff was awful. But they asked me if I was feeling drowsy and the next thing I know I wake up and a nurse is talking to me. The Dr. comes in and said he couldn't see anything, so that's good.

I guess I'll follow up soon and keep doing what I'm doing, because that seems to be working for now.

Dan, Duane and Steve...it went well and am feeling much better. I'm still waiting on biopsies, but I may be up for more procedures in the future. The doctor briefly spoke with me and really didn't say much for now. I'm just glad that one is behind me. And Dan, we are very much enjoying the Soobie too. Thanks to all for the best wishes. I'm happier knowing it's over.

I would hope so, otherwise I would sue the doctor. LOL!

Hey man, I'm glad it went well and you are feeling better.

Yeah, I still feel pain in my stomach. But I've been trying to tell them it was wiser to look down rather than up at first. They didn't listen, but hey. It could be worse. I'm just glad to be making progress. It's been a nightmare of a ride. I wouldn't wish on anyone. And it's good to have fellow posters here to talk to about it, etc.

Thanks, bro.

At least you are not full of crap today, right?

;)

glad everything went well for you today, and good news that the doc did not see anything that troubled him.

Dude, I bet. It's a jewel of a ride. Such a clean car for a 95 model. I couldn't believe how well taken care of it was. And now I'm a Subaru fan. I'm in the market for one now. :D But yeah, I didn't need to test drive it much to see it was well-maintained. It was around the block and sold. I was ill that day, too. I wasn't expecting that. But the next day I popped the hood and knew I made a good choice. We're grateful.

I sorta wish I had gotten it for myself, though.

How is the Audi hunt for Kate going? Did she get anything else yet?

We're still looking. No hurry as we have 3 rides to use. Funny thing is there's one in Austin and we might head down Saturday to look at it if it's still available. I should've had you bring it up for me. :p:

It's always easier without a trade and your own financing. The best car deals are found when you don't need one. I would just be patient and wait until you're certain about it. Sometimes it's best, as it was for us, to look outside of your city.

Mail me here or call me if you need anything I can help with or if you and Kate want to hit up a few spots with Amanda and I.

Just to let you know: I've had numerous tests done and they still haven't found out what is causing the abdominal discomfort that comes on once in awhile.

My GI said we're going to re-evaluate in 6 months and if it hasn't cleared up I might need another colonoscopy, endoscopy, and possibly a diagnostic laparoscopy.

I'm sort of in the same boat, but I have a follow up on next Wed. School has me tied up, so this should be fun to see if I can hang in there. If you haven't tried juicing ginger and carrots, you should. I've had good luck for 3 days in a row. But I'm glad there were no visible signs of anything from the colonoscopy.

I'll do what they tell me to do. I hate going through the motions. But I just try to grit my teeth and bear it. It's better than the alternative. I'm hoping he suggests swallowing the camera pill and finding something of a diagnosis.

That's the worst part, knowing something is wrong and not knowing the specifics of it.

I wish you luck, man. PM me if you want to talk about it. I'm sure it's a real treat for others to read about bung hole issues and what not. LOL

The main use of the stomach pill is if you want to get a look at the small bowel which cannot be we visualized by gastroscopy or colonscopy.

Anyhow, I'm glad the colonoscopy went well (I told you about the amnesia from the sedative).

I want to look at my stomach and everything in there. I think endoscopy is next though.

Yeah, I was completely out. I remember shaking my doc's hand, them asking me if I was drowsy. I said, "a little bit". And then I woke up in a recovery room. Surely, I wasn't awake. If I was, no memory whatsoever and really...for anyone who needs this and hasn't gotten it: If I can find the courage to do it and even write about it, you can too. It really is a cake walk...chocolate cake walk.

They don't put you totally under but you're very, very groggy throughout the procedure. Then after it's done, you don't remember it at all.

The gastroscopy will be a similar deal but without the bowel prep.

I woke up drooling on myself. Perhaps I was in a conscious/subconscious state. The Dr. said I was getting newer drugs for anesthesia where you are out and not participating and wake up feeling rather crisp and clear.

Who knows. I definitely don't remember it and it was over in a second, it seemed.
