Unanswerable Questions

@CalPolyTechnique
(Why do we keep treating Zeke like he's Marshall Faulk in his prime, lining him up wide on critical passing downs
?)
(A) The defense can't stop anyone! Running only benifits you when you can compete. If the other team scores 9-10 plays, running the ball kills the clock, and ensures you lose.

(Does McCarthy not have an oversight coordinator, or some guy that reviews close plays and tells him to review it or not? This is now the third game in which we allowed a horrible (and reversible) call on the field to remain. In Week 2, we gave up an extra 8 yards on a Julio Jones catch after he was clearly touched down. This past game, Zeke clearly scored a TD but the play was inexplicably not called a TD (unless I've missed the explanation for this somewhere). Against the Seahawks, Zeke nearly scored a TD but his knee touched the ground while the ball was around the half-yard line, but they ended spotting the ball at the 3- or 4-yard line. Why is no one in McCarthy's ear?)
(B) Risk losing a time out when you're down by several scores, or force your team to hammer it out? 1st year coach wants to see what kind of moxy he's playing with. Trust me, this is not a 1 year deal. Win or lose, he's going to flip cards until he sees a full house.

Why can't we find a kick-returner that receives the kick and returns it full speed(
C) Blocking.

Why would you squib kick at that moment in the game?
(D) You have no faith in your defense to get you the ball back after allowing 49 pts o_O

Why do we still try to run sweeps with Zeke, or anything outside of the tackles for that matter?

(E) To keep the defense honest. The fact that we've scored (even if it's so called garbage time, which I think is the dumbest, most hyperbolic crap ever) near 40+ a game consistently is pretty impressive considering our OL is an absolute egg shell right now.

One guy that’s really impressed me is Noah Brown. He’s made some really difficult catches this season. I’m still waiting for him to show up on special teams which is supposed to be his calling card but he’s justified his spot for sure.
If Noah Brown continues to ascend, you can say bye bye to Gallop. We won't max pay 2 WR.

Why is the industry designed to keep the artist in debt?
And why them dudes ain't riding if they part of your set?
And why they never get it popping but they party to death?

I think they will attempt to trade Cooper over letting Gallup walk.
Then maybe try to get a honest offer from Brown/Ced Wilson when the time comes to be our #3.

Coop makes about 20 million, not confident there is a team that would take on that contract. Once you max pay a player, you are pretty much stuck with them.

Cooper's contract is actually pretty favorable. Any team taking him on would basically only be committed to him through 2021, then they could cut him and save $16 million on the cap (dead cap of only $6 million) Again, I don't think people realized how team friendly Cooper's deal was. Only $40 million was guaranteed.

Thats good to know, unfortunately the team that can really use Cooper is the Eagles.

100%

I was actually a bit surprised he agreed to that contract. I think he’s good as gone after 2021.

His guarantees run out very soon, so any team acquiring him could restructure/redo the deal to lower the cap hits and give him more guaranteed money/security.

Of course, if his play drops off next year, they can easily cut him in 2022, eat 6mil but save 16 mil.

Miami is another team that could use Cooper. They have DeVante Parker and then meh, to go along with their future QB in Tua. Getting him another weapon while he's paid peanuts could work out in our favor.

Totally agree. They appear to have front loaded it for him so maybe he traded size for getting all of his guaranteed money within two years?

You'd think Cooper would be gone but then I wonder what happens with Gallup. What kind of contract is he going to be looking for?

Well, in theory, cap space will open up by letting Cooper walk in 2022. Gallup will be 26 when he hits FA in 2022. I can see the Cowboys trying to extend him next year with the idea of saving some money by not letting him hit the open market.

Knowing this franchise, they won't do this with Gallup, who has shown multiple seasons of play, despite doing it for Crawford and Smith after each only showed one season of decent play.

LOL.
