Uncalled penalties on Patriots today

Not sure if this was talked about before, but did anyone else catch the 2 uncalled offsides by the Patriots today? One was near the end of the 2nd quarter when the Chargers were on the Pat's 24 yard line. The uncalled penalty killed their chance to score. The second one happened in the 3rd quarter on the drive right after Brady's interception inside the endzone. That uncalled offsides killed the drive for a go-ahead score as well. And then later with 5:40 to go in the 4th, when Maroney ran out of bounds, the officials decided to restart the clock to milk more time against the Chargers.

I always hear other ppl talking about the refs/Pats conspiracy regarding calls, and aside from the Dallas/Pats game I didn't really see it with my own eyes. But this time I saw it, and I frame-by-framed it with Tivo and it's there. Ware has been penalized for much less than what the Pats got away with tonight.

That said, I am rooting for the Patriots for the SB cuz I hate Eli and the giants!

The Packers were also getting away with it too. Late in the game on 3rd and long, KMG got off WAY early and sacked Eli, but nothing was called.

FYI-the Packers were getting the benefit of a ton of bad calls-otherwise, the Gints would have blown it out by halftime.

Hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm............it's obvious to me Goodell and the NFL *wanted* a Packers/Pats Super Bowl.

One that got me was when a defender was blocked to the ground and kicked his leg out to trip Rivers, which resulted in an int. Here's Rivers with a bad leg and the ref didn't see it? Maybe kicking the QBs leg to try to tackle him is legal.

It was Vrabel.

There was also the sack by Seau which I didn't think was hitting the QB in the face but you know if Merriman hit Brady that way, the laundry would have been flying.

then there was the hold by Bruschi on Gates late in the second quarter. no hold and Gates might score a td. CBS and all just said it was a great play by the wiley veteran who had a stroke.

To my knowledge, the Vrabel trip was illegal and I can't believe the refs missed that one since it was so blatant and I think it was dirty.

No team gets away with as much Off. Holding like the pats, no team gets away with as much Def. P.I. like the pats. Enough said!

for a while after the cowboys loss to the pats my friends and co workers thought i was just bitter about the loss when i harped on the treatment the pats get from the refs and how obvious it is that they would do anything they could to preserve the pats perfect season.

I told my friends to just watch and pay attention and they would see....and most of them have now after watching the pats get bailed out again and again by the zebras.

i am calling it now. The Giants will hang around close or maybe even take the lead in the 4th and then the pats will get away with every holding call and giants will be flagged for the most ticky tacky infractions. book it.

It would be hard to argue this point. They did everything to give that Game to the Packers.

It doesn't seem to be just the Pats. I've noticed that in most of the big games one team has multiple drive killing calls against them and the other team has very few penalties. The teams rank for penalties per game doesn't seem to matter in these games. There has to be money involved for the NFL to risk this kind of publicity and I've always thought it was big gambling. To be honest it's kind of tarnished my view of the NFL and it's not as fun to watch as it used to be.

ehh...every game has several missed or bad calls made by the officials.
That's why personally, I don't use that as an excuse, it's a fairly even balance of crappy calls or non-calls across the board.

That commercial where the ref says 'I will make up for it in the second half ', is pretty accurate.

All the money the NFL makes and we do not have full time officials. Pretty much says it all right there.

You'll never overcome the stigma that you are a fan of theirs until you stop defending their every action as if it was golden.

Fair enough and I could care less about perceptions, but to think this team is 18-0 only because of the referee's is not the way it is. The Pats haters are the on's not being objective.

In any given game calls are missed on both sides.
And by the way, Brady and the Patriots are a great team. Not cool to admit that in these here parts.

which is why they shouldn't get special treatment from the refs. but that's how it goes. jordan and the bulls got a lot of favorable calls likewise with the yankees. jerry needs to get him a ref like the pats and colts have.

Basketball and Football are totally un-related in the nature of calling penalties....

Nors, you do care about the perceptions or you wouldn't angrily deny being a Pats fan every time you see that you've been accused of it.

I think the Patriots are a great team, but not the greatest they are being made out to be. I still say the 1985 Bears was the best team I ever saw. It's sort of a shame they lost that one game.

Dale and I were saying Tom Brady was a great QB way back on the old site when other people still weren't seeing it.

I don't have a "Cheatriots" or "Belicheat" agenda. I know one of the Patriots players, respect him, and have no issue with them going undefeated.

So, if it's not cool to admit those things in these parts then I'm not cool. No big deal. No one will ever paint me as a Patriots fan like they will you because quite frankly you are not objective about them. You gush about them as if they are your team and constantly have negative things to say about the Cowboys.

The perception is entirely your own fault. I have never seen you honestly call them on anything. Sarcastically, sure you will. But you're the guy who named the Jets coach "Manginarat." What foul has Mangini ever committed against Dallas? Not one. But he dissed the Patriots and because of that, you hate him.

Your fault for the perception. You have no one else you can point a finger at and be right.
