a Championship by signing some key FA's? Lets face it, we need some critical parts to add to this team and alot of the guys are in their prime so to speak.

I would say that we have a small window of maybe 3 years to get it done. After that you have guys like Witten, Romo, Ware etc getting into the latter stages of their careers. Yes Romo can play into his mid 30's at least but at some point our current star players will be getting up there.

Can we sign a topflight cb, ol, lb etc in FA with the new uncapped year to speed up the aquisition of talent ?

No we just need Bill Cowher. 10 years of his tutelage and we'll get a championship, although 3 years in we'll go to the Super Bowl and get beaten handily by one of our worst AFC rivals and then a long drought before we get back.

Cowhers been out of it too long now unfortunately. And the ability of Tomlin to easily replicate and or match his success leads me to believe there are more important parts to the steelers organization than just head coach.

He has the best track record of any of the other head coaches out there being touted for being hired here and there.

While I don't think he'll be available to us, money talks. I'm still a Wade fan and will be pending the results of the rest of this year. I think Cowher is headed to Carolina and I think that's his dream job. But Jerry could change that. Although I'm a big fan of Cowher I believe there are other young candidates out there who can fill the job.

It does not matter if Jerry gets a seance going and gets the ghost of Vince Lombardi to come back here and coach. As long as he has such a hands on roll in the coaching of this team and refuses to allow a HC to be a HC we are going to have problems.

Jerry is the reason Cowher wants nothing to do with this place.

Wasn't Tomlin there while cowher was still the head coach?

I'm pretty sure he had been learning the ropes from Cowher and just stepped in. The two are pretty similar.

I think Tomlin was a defensive coach in Minnesota?

i said the same thing about jerry not spending any more money on big time players because of his money tied up in the new stadium and i got blasted all over the board big time. so good luck with that;
