i felt like this game was a classic case of underestimating the opponent . 10 points early off of special teams mistakes. Trying for the big play over and over again leading to 3 and outs, speaks to believing your offense is that much better than the other team or that you can risk high risk high reward low % plays because you think your defense can dominate the other teams offense. Neither of which was the case. You got a home team with a good coach and a 10 spot lead that played ball control while the favored team felt more and more pressure to get back on top with a quick score. This happens all the time in the NFL. An underdog Home Team gets a quick lead from turnovers and plays ball control and smart defense and the favored team gets worn down from stalled drives from trying to get the game back with big plays.

I don't think the Cowboys underestimated them. They spotted them 10 points, then couldn't come back from it. Receivers dropped balls. The defense gave up long drives. The Cowboys lost in all phases of the game. It happens.

I wouldn't say I underestimated the Seahawks, and I still think we should have beat them handedly. The facts, they have a rookie QB who got shut down in week 1 against Arizona. We should have made them rely on their running game. Another fact, we have had a good run defense for years capable of shutting teams down. Fact, we have a good running and passing game. They do have an underrated defense, but no defense in this league should hold us to 7 points. I didn't underestimate them, but I thought we should have beat them by about 2 touchdowns.

it sure looked like a faulty game plan by coaching staff to me, which is why i feel like they understimated seattle

their running game looked pretty damn reliable.

I know. Our run defense is supposed to be good. We got abused. We had no chance of winning this game today.

That is how it looked, yet players are saying no excuse, we should have won. If the players feel like we should have won - which they are saying in post game.... how is it that anyone who watched the game felt like we "had no chance of winning this game today", because i felt like that in the mid 3rd quarter to me.

I think we overrate the Cowboys' talent more than we underrate opponents.

Maybe we do. This year i just want to see some consistency that can define this team.

I think dallas allows the other team to set the tempo and they play go that instead of putting the foot down on the pedal

I think we lost the first what 4 minutes of the 1st half. then we won the remainder of the first half. Things changed in the second half. Either we made more mistakes or they made major adjustments.

that was suprising, usually i feel like the cowboys have been able to adjust at half time against an inferior team and respond

I don't know if I attribute Felix's fumble, the blocked punt or the dropped passes to overlooking anyone. I think today merely illustrates the fine line between winning and losing in this league.

Play mostly well for an entire game and you can knock off a quality opponent, like we did last week. Play like crap and you can get blown out by what you consider an inferior opponent, like we did today.

Romo was off on a number of passes. It looked like receivers weren't where he wanted them to be on others. We had special teams breakdowns, our defense wore down in the second half and our receivers forgot how to catch the ball. Other than that, it was a splendid showing.

I agree with the overall summary and you always get up for certain games like prime time games but the cowboys only had 1 drive this whole game that was productive and they looked shakey even then. Just never won any command of this game at all.

But...but..we have Kevin Ogletree! BTW, he failed to show up today outside of one catch........

The team pretty much failed to show up. Not sure we should single much of anyone out, other then Felix and who ever let the guy through the middle on the punt block.

Dan Connor, but still I bet there are a lot of angry fantasy owners right now who picked up Ogletree in the third quarter of the Giants game......

That is something that be lurking at back of my cavernous mind. You might be on to something.
I do think we overrate our defense, as bad as it is. The exception is ware.
Bad snaps will kill us if we dont do something really quicklike.
