Some of you bring up how Bledsoe is not good under pressure. Well most QBs are not. But here are some things I wanna bring up about Drew Bledsoe under pressure.
For quite a few games he has had almost no time to set and throw the ball. Yeah he does make some mistakes when he has time and sometimes he holds on to the ball to long then to but most other QBs do this to sometimes.
Even under all the pressure here are some of Bledsoes stats through 15 games.
Completed 61.3% of his passes. 2nd best season for him ever.
7.38 yards per attempt. 2nd best ever for him.
3397 passing yards. He should finish around 3650 to 3800 yards.
22 TD passes to 15 INTs.
This is all behind a line that at the best during this season was below average at best.
Take a look at this. Peyton Manning is a great QB. But look how he did against the Chargers under pressure. 26-45 336 yard 1 TD and 2 INTs. Manning completed less then 60% that game. As good as Manning is even he can be messed up by pressure and he has alot more talent around him and a much better OL then Bledsoe does.
You can say what you want about what I will say but if we were to be in a Super Bowl I would take Drew Bledsoe over Peyton Manning at QB. Why cuz if we run into a defense that gets all kindsa pressure on the QB.....Bledsoe is used to it!!!! The pressure Manning got in the Charger game is what Bledsoe has had to put up with almost every game this year.
I still think Manning is a better QB but Manning has such a good OL he is not used to that kinda pressure like Bledsoe is used to.
I am gonna make this one of my predictions for the 2006 season. If our OL is improved alot. Drew Bledsoe will have his best season ever in the NFL. He might not pass for 4000 yards. But I think he will have his highest ever QB rating and most TD passes ever and very few INTs. Julius Jones will also take alota pressure off of him.
I have had a few Bledsoe bashing posts....but he has been a very good QB here. It would be hard for about any QB to do much better here.
With a better line next year and IFFFFFFFFFF we get Terell Owens I predict Bledsoe to have a 3500 to 4000 yard season with 30 TD passes or more. And 15 or fewer INTs.
