thats what this team has done for too long(except for 2003) if we don't win atleast 11 games/win the division/and win a playoff game, this season is a failure as far as i'm concerned. we have too much talent on this team. who agree's with me?

We haven't won a playoff game in over a decade.

Just making the playoffs will be an accomplishment.

I agree, no excuses in 2007. This team doesn't have ANY holes and now is the time to put up or shut up! Going a decade without winning a single playoff game is unacceptable and inexcusable!

Well, I think this is a good point. Any good coach I've ever heard speak, has always stressed winning your own Division. If you can't that done, you can't accomplish much. The Cowboys first goal, IMO, needs to be winning there own division and then everything else should come next IMO.

I think winning 11 games, and the division and a playoff game is a reasonable goal/hope/expectation - realistically it's not a dramatic leap from what we did a couple of times under Parcells.

Where I have a little issue is the assumption that "we have too much talent on this team".

While I certainly believe that we have considerably more talent than we had before Parcells came, untill guys like Spears and Canty and Brady James and some others step up and show that they truly do have that talent (or in some cases that they can play at a high level consistently) then I can't assume the talent is there.

with the status of the NFC.. I think we have a very good chance of reaching the SB THIS YEAR. There is not one team in the NFC that is vastly better than we are.

Playoffs or not the past ten years, this team has too much talent right now... I was so dissapointed when Drew Brees ( Go Boliermakers) and SD missed the playoffs after that 9-7 season because they had such great talent, and If we don't get past the first round I will probably break something because we have such great potential.

The thing to realize is that great "talent" and great "potential" are not the same thing. Judging from the college careers of guys we've drafted and some measurables like speed, we have great "potentential", but talent also includes things like abilty to learn and adapt, tenacity, instincts, adjusting to NFL level competition, strength of will and character etc .........

I would agree with the great "potential" part, but as I said before, until we actually see the production out of Spears and Canty and a number of other players then the great "talent" part remains an uncertainty.

I am on this bandwagon! Wade inherits alot of solid talent.......if Moxie is the real deal, then 12 wins is not out of the question! :bang2:
