Four teams played yesterday for the opportunity to go to a super bowl.
The COMBINED amount of penalties and penalty yardage from those four teams was less than the amount of penalties and yardage we had in our one playoff game against the 49ers

Kind of leads to me to think that coaches of good teams stress being disciplined and make their players accountable because they know you can't be successful in the postseason being an undisciplined team.

McCarthy says he knows how to win I really have to question this when he can't get a handle on this basic problem That other playoff teams seem to stress as a fundamental.

But don't worry we're going to work on it for next year. Sheesh!!!!

Cinci was the least penalized team in the entire NFL during the season, the Cowboys were the most. Guess who is still playing and guess who is sitting on their couch playing their PS5.

Not a coincidence.;)

All true it just kind of hit me last night and I was curious as to what kind of penalties these championship game teams were getting.
Never expected us to have more penalties than all those teams combined.

It's just too much to expect to overcome and I really don't understand my McCarthy didn't get a better handle on it earlier in the season since he claims to know how to win.

How could you not see this was going to be a problem

Totally agree, bro @Blackrain , which is why I don't understand why so many of you have lazily just blamed our QB. Sure, Dak makes mistakes just like the rest of the players on this team, but the bigger issue has been for years now how this team constantly leads the league in penalties (or is always at the very top). How many drives have been killed on Offense due to penalties? How many 3rd and 12+ yards has this Offense been put in due to penalties AND during crucial parts of the game?

This team's #1 issue is its league leading penalties and our Oline's inability to perform much better. Fix those 2 things and we will see a much better team come playoff time.

It's tough to turn it around in the middle of a season. Once the word is out that you're undisciplined the refs are watching you and calling it tighter than they will other teams. And if you think it was bad this year, strap in for next season after Dak lifted his mask for everyone to see in that press conference.

Yep AC and in my mind this is the biggest and most easily correctable thing we have wrong with this team.

It doesn't cost us any draft picks. It doesn't cost us money.

All it does is require our enormous coach who doesn't call the plays on offense or defense to do his freaking job and discipline this team so it stops shooting itself in the foot.

It doesn't matter who the quarterback is constantly asking them to overcome pre-snap penalties is inviting disaster.

The refs overlooked quite a few fouls in that game between the Rams and the 9rs. Some egregious such as the intentional helmet to helmet hit from behind from the 9r defender on Stafford. What chapped me the most were the blocking calls that were ignored with the arm and hand on the upper chest of a defender, a technique Tryon Smith is now routinely getting flagged for. I think there is an unwritten rule that the refs slack off on penalties when the bigger showtime games in post season are at stake. Let's not blow it out of proportion as far as the negative comment Dak make about that one officiating crew after the 9rs loss. He publically apologized for it.

Yeah I'm sure it's fine. Won't be an issue...

You know the comical thing about this.

While Dallas led the league in most penalties, they also led the league in being the BENEFICIARIES of the most penalties AGAINST OPPONENTS.

Stats probably have no meaning unless they are compared to the opponent. Some crews may call a lot for both teams, while others may not.

Not turning this into a Dak thread please but he was making a joke and all the reporters laughed you could hear it in the background.
It was blown out of proportion Dak is a good human being

I'm not sure why but that just doesn't make me feel any better. Lol.
I just feel like we're in a perpetual loop of second and 15 running Zeke up the middle for two yards

I agree it was much ado about nothing but there are comments in threads about Dak showing his real character. Most of my post was about refs relaxed flagging during big time post season games.

Penalties are absolutely about coaching and discipline. The Dallas Cowboys are not a well coached, disciplined team. The 3rd part of that is football IQ. We have a lot of dumb players, and i'm not talking about wonderlic scores. As Forrest Gump says, stupid is what stupid does.

We have a better offense of line than Cincinnati. When we don’t have is a disciplined offensive line. They didn’t have to make up 10 penalties for Stupid mistakes

That’s why I don’t mind losing players in free agency. Get rid of the dummies and get some smart football players. It’s usually the same quality just different.

Prescott’s true character is, he is a winner. We don’t lose games when we’re ahead. The problem is mistakes don’t allow us to catch up.

Do you know what’s comical about this. Those games Where we benefited we won. You don’t take into account the games were didn’t matter. That’s comical in itself. It’s like fumbling. Or throwing an INT. It’s when you fumble. And it’s when you throw that interception.
