The moment you bring up something to provoke thought that's not rose colored the claws come out. I love this board.

It's not thought provoking its shock journalism and not even realistic. Those clowns have no idea how the salary cap actually works. Do you know how much dead money we would have on the books from trading those two? They said it clears up "40 million" for free agents. Uhh no dude that's not how the cap works

The first issue is the source.. I have ZERO respect for McNabb.. he sucks and is bitter. Why do they go on as if Dez is T.O. ??

it doesnt have to be realistic to be shocking or thought provoking

Neither dez or romo is getting traded. The media loves ratings and this is about ratings and attention. But reality sits in when you look at the cap. While trading one in theory is possible, so is winning the lottery. But I would bet the farm on either

On the surface, it's an idiotic idea. Add to that the fact that it came from McFlabb and it's borderline short bus.

But, if you remove the McFlabb variable and dig into the concept, it provokes thought.

If course not. But if you're going for the shock value at least be realistic

there are things called abstractions or expressions that sometimes might be based on reality but can be far from the source/removed that its not realistic anymore. these things can be shocking.

FS1 plays the side of fiction a number of times. or "that's a stretch" non fiction. its how it generates money. if it relied on non fiction all of the time it wouldnt be around.

Yeah, I'm not doing your research for you. Joel Klatt went over it on the Ticket 2-3 weeks ago. The ratings for these types of shows on both ESPN and FS1 are absolutely atrocious. There's a reason for that. That reason is that people with two brain cells to rub together are finally tired of being fed garbage like this after 15-20 years.

So correct me if I'm wrong. If we find a suitor willing to absorb the contracts "as is" (which I believe that's how they were referencing it) you gain cap relief.

Oh. So you can't find a better fresher link than the one published 10 days ago that supports your position. OH OK.

"Link?" guy always cracks me up. Stay with it, because the pathetic ratings for shows like these depend on you and yours.

Bleu my boy

You can't trade Romo that contract is crippling. Also that IMO is not in the deck of cards for multiple reasons. If Dak hits the rookie wall (which is a very real possibility) they can go to Romo and not skip a beat. Jerry IMO will not trade Romo he has a big spot for him and it's a respect thing.

As far as Dez goes we've never once heard anyone come out and say anything about Dez within that locker room we've always heard and seen that he is a stellar teammate. Let's not forget Dez was part of this chemistry when they went 2-1 and he's only 27 still considered one of the young guys. Let's not forget they just did a team dinner and party at Romo's I highly highly doubt there is any distraction or chemistry issues with either one of these guys. All you have to do is just open your eyes a little and see that what these guys are spewing is only for ratings, don't buy into any of it. Dez will def not be going anywhere Jerry didn't just pay him to move on from him. Jerry and co. Are not in the business of getting rid of homegrown talent that they've developed.

Even if the receiving team takes on the players contracts the original team is still responsible for the dead money portion of the contract left on their salary cap. Moving Romo this year leaves a huge dead money hit on our cap (i believe it was somewhere north of 15 million). That is money that isn't being used for any purpose but still takes up cap space available for us. So no it doesn't free us up to use that money on other free agents, and at that point we no longer have Romo but still have his dead money taking away valuable cap space.

Stay with what sir? If you make a claim, support it. You said the ratings for Undisputed suck. I gave you a Forbes article from just 10 days ago that says otherwise. Lol. I'm a "links guy" just because I supported my claim. Gotcha.:muttley::clap::popcorn:
