Man, I really miss the retro jerseys that the team used to wear on Thanksgiving games with the white helmets. In 2013, the league ruled that once players have a helmet fit properly, they should wear the same helmet for the rest of the season. Since then, as I remember, we haven't seen the throwback jerseys.

Is there any way around this rule, like wearing the white helmets half of the year and the regular silver helmet the other half? Painting the helmets during the week? The throwback and white helmet is such a classic look. And they could integrate the white helmet with the white pants and blue jerseys (like they did last year against the Giants I believe). That would be nice mix of the modern look with a retro vibe.

Or are we never seeing the throwback jersey and white helmets again?

Personally, I think teams should wear one home and one road jersey with the same helmets all the time.

It's ruined college football. Those games just look stupid.

Apparently its an issue having to do with the concussion situation... They want all players using the same helmets all year long.

Oregon football looks amazing week in and week out. You are in the minority.
That is the one exception I allow because it is their thing.

Everybody else looks ridiculous.

Alabama doesn't do it. Karma.

I thought it was decided the base color of the helmet is what you had to wear. Like the Steelers is all black and Green Bay is all yellow. They just remove the emblems.

The Cowboys throwback helmet was white.

The throwback stuff was a nice novelty when they introduced it for whichever anniversary it was used for (was it 75th or 80th?).

Since then it has grown tired. The third colour jerseys used by some teams are also tired. I think all these changes erode teams' identities.

Teams should always wear the same helmets and pants and only have their main jersey and white alternate jersey (or white jersey and blue alternate for Cowboys etc).

I don't remember what I was watching since it was quite awhile ago. But I heard the Cowboys wear white at home so that the fans can see different colors every week at the stadium. Otherwise it would look the same every week.

The other was in regards to the seafoam pants. On television back then the seafoam pants appeared to be a shiny silver.

They could wear the late '60s unis.
