Just wondering if anyone knew what the NFL policy was for names on jersey's.

Will RG3 be able to put Griffin III or will he just have to put Griffin? I know before if you had two Smith's on the team, you had to put E. Smith or K. Smith, but now it just says Smith.

They confirmed prior to the draft that he would be allowed to use "Griffin III".

(They sell them on the NFL's store website)

Nike changed the policy. Our runner Helu actually is Helu Jr, and under Reebok's contract he couldn't put the Jr on the jersey. He will now. And as was said, Griffin will wear Griffin III on the back of his.

So Nike makes the policy, not the NFL? Seems odd.

thanks

I phrased that wrong, sorry. In the new contract with Nike it is allowed. I don't have a clue whether Nike put in saying, we can do this which Reebok didn't. Kinda like the first picks name being pressed onto a team jersey at the draft, I imagine Nike threw in incentives to get the deal made.
