Those Pirates unis were pretty cool. I hated the Pirates but gotta admit, that We Are Family crew was pretty good. Pops Stargell, Dave Parker, Phil Garner, Omar Mareno, Madog, Burt Blyleven, Kent Tekulve, John Candelaria. That was a pretty good team.


Cracks me up seeing these pics. Guys with big old chaws in their mouths, players burning sticks. Baseball before PC became the order of the day I suppose.

I remember me and some friends all had those Pirates caps. Thot they were neat at the time. Pretty good team, but never should have won the WS in 79. Down 3-1 and facing that years CY Young Winner in Flanagan, 3 time CY Young winner Palmer and Scott McGregor. Im still amazed that the Birds didnt win just one of those games with the pitchers they had.
