Not sure where to start.......I didn't think we would win the game. The trash talk coupled with the weather was a recipe for disaster. This was the type of game I am used to being let down. Even though it was not at the end of the season, was almost a must win type of game.
After days went by and I watched the heavy gamblers movement, I swung to the side of a good chance at victory but still wasn't convinced. I could not see our team roll into NY in cold and windy weather conditions and pull it off with the injuries we have, not to mention a questionable offense.
If we had to lose, was kind of hoping to get whooped so Jerry would be forced to face the criticism. But alas, we won and I am ecstatic. To me, we are now past the point of teetering on the side of destruction or division winners. Time to go full steam ahead and lets do this...............no excuses as to why we can't win three more and seal this thing up.
Defense
They played their hearts out. Even facing their own challenges, they rose to the occasion. Sure, the run game wasn't all that good but they never broke. I am thankful for the wind too, helped our team and maybe some gained "false" confidence. My hats off to Orlando, Carr and Hatcher especially. Ware, where art thou?
Morris.....he looked out of position often but also contested some plays. I am not down on him as some but the man needs some extra cheeseburgers, gain some weight man so you can do what you do best.....press coverage.
Carter....the book is still open on him. Plays great at times and plays stupid at times, not sure what to make of him yet.
Heath...just going to skip this one.
Offense
They showed more variation and I loved the screens. Murray and Dunbar pretty much had their way yet the run game disappeared at times. Still a lack of consistency there. In that wind, run all day, they could not stop us. Of course, the same applies to NY, we could not stop them.
I am not positive, but I swear Garrett took over play-calling later in the second half. The last drive was excellent, we played not to lose and it paid off. Hopefully, they slowly integrated the "new" offense and it will only get better from here on out. Was nice to see Dez being moved around some but buy that man some stick-um. Oh, and you don't have to try and score every play, it is ok to fall down if more than one defender on you.
Miles........I am proud of him since he managed to escape the game with hamstrings intact, kudos. But really, enjoy your last season in Dallas.
Romo.....way to sack it up and go win the game. I don't care what happened the previous 55 minutes but you delivered. It was tough conditions today and I thought he played well enough all game. Add one more comeback to your stats
Garrett....I am still not a fan and never was. I want a new head coach, anyone. With that said, he is at the last wrung on my ladder but after today, he climbed back up one step. He showed me that he is capable of implementation and that is a start. Just keep doing that and maybe he can reach the middle at some point.
It is too late for me to wish destruction in hopes of getting a new coach. Now, lets get some players back, hang on win this darn division. I want a home playoff game where anything can happen. Go out and beat Oakland and lets do this!
