I have used Unity a little bit in Ubuntu and after trying out Fedora 16 for a while... Wow GS is just so much better than Unity in my opinion.

Now with the release of a Gnome Shell extensions website where you can enable/disable extensions on the fly, another +1 to GS.

Thoughts?

When I was playing around with Linux a while ago, I preferred GS.

I need to get back into it. It's a fun system to fiddle around with.

Unity comes off like an evolution of OSX in a way. Well, or a merge of OSX and iOS.

I still prefer powerful flexability to being showhorned into simplicity.

Installed Edubuntu for my kids on their laptops (leftover work laptops) and have been unimpressed by unity. Been a long time since I used Fedora as a desktop, so no opinion on GS.

Me too man, trust me.

I'm finding task switching and overall usability BETTER with GS over a traditional taskbar.

I'm going to upload a video in a minute of it..

Okay it might be a bit before I upload it, internet is moving painfully slow at the moment.

And yes the Pictures folder is hidden. Not putting me or the family on display for you guys :p

Looks pretty slick. Might have to download and install it in vmware fusion just to pay around with it.
