University of Memphis's "D" ???? Strangest "D" I've ever seen

They are playing on ESPN now and I've never seen this type D. Ever. Only one down lineman everyone else is back off the line it looks like a wishbone but on Defense. anyone know the name of it and does it really work?

Kinda sounds like when the LA Rams went with one or two down linemen backin the early 90's.

.....That was the EAGLE defense as it was called by the Rams defensive coordinater. CANT remember his name off hand.

I don't know but I remember Dave Wanstedt doing that against Cowboys years ago, when he was HC for Bears. But thats in 2 min drill at end of game?

There is a formation called the Nickel 1-5-2 or something like that in madden on the 3-4 playbook. Its a ton of linebacker in and one DT

Joe Lee Dunn the dc has always done that. I can't stand our spread offense. All that get to the line then look at the sidelines drives me nuts.
