I see many of us talking about trading for a WR or a RB. I don’t think those are big concerns right now. I see this as an opportunity to replace a huge hole in the ship before it sinks with Trevon Diggs out. I’m not 100% confident in Daron Bland yet although he’s been playing lights out, I need to see more.

What do you guys think?

Not sure there are decent corners available in the trade market and I think most are more worried about the offense right now

Bland is balling and Gilmore is a solid #2. Lewis is solid at slot and they got Muk who can play the slot too.

Outside of an unforseen injury, I think the team is ok there unless the Broncos want to be our Titans and give away Surtain for a good price.

I agree with this, Jlew hasnt been the same since his injury, Gilmore is still doin good but can be exposed due to his regressed speed. Bland is apparently the #1 corner in the league now per QBR at 22.3, if we get one more solid dude there oh man.
Really makes you sad Diggs isnt here cause then this secondary would be unbeatable like you saw earlier this year

I mean I think there is a scenario where you find a outside corner to put Bland back in the slot...not that he's struggling but he's shown to be able to play inside and out.

But the reason why people want a piece on offense is because the offense is the one that' underachieved. The defense for the most part hasn't.

Yeah Byard is a safety past his prime. You can get him for a 4th and 5th. Surtain? Get ready to trade 2 1st rounders.

It's true that (another) injury at the CB position would seriously jeopardize our chances. The problem is that same logic could be applied to many other positions on the team. What if Lamb, Parsons, Pollard, or Dak, was lost? What if another LB was lost? OL depth isn't inspiring confidence either.

It's a slippery slope.

People keep saying Surtain and in a perfect world sure, but it would cost a whole lot, thinking 2 1sts to begin with.

Trade for a top 5 lineman and you'll see an improvement at every level. Running increases, Red Zone get's better. Defense gets rest. Special teams can take chances.

Agree. What they have right now at cb is not good enough. I don't want to see Gilmore trying to keep up with speedsters if we make it to the playoffs. It's clear he doesn't have the speed anymore. He's still a good player though.

You can never have too many cbs. In my opinion, RB is the least of our problems. If the blocking is there, Pollard and company can get the job done just fine. The blocking has just been pathetic so far

Agreed. No way Denver let him go, he's a building block, not a trading chip for future picks.

Unfortunately!

I'm too lazy to look up stats but how many linemen get traded these days? Surely really low. Seems teams are unwilling to give them away unless for silly picks, Tunsil springs to mind.

Has that dude we got from Miami looked any good? Can’t he play the role of dime CB? We also have Mukuamu and Nashon who are ok depth options.

I think we need another RB. Offense needs a spark and Dak has enough receivers.

That would be nice.

Sooooo.....we need another RB, another LB, and now another CB. And we should trade for them.......trade what?

I don't think anyone disagrees with the idea that we could use another good CB. I think it's a matter of priority and cost in draft picks and cap money.

The NFL trade market isn't exactly Walmart.

Unless you're grabbing Surtain I don't think it matters much. Replacing Diggs with a mid tier corner wont change much. You need a true shut down guy who you're comfortable with playing man coverage with minimal help. That's what made this defense so special the first two weeks as having the Diggs/Gilmore combo opened up your safeties to play all over the field.
