Unpopular opinion: Trade for CB

CB or WR could make sense. Even OL if it's the right guy, but that's unlikely. I don't get the calls for LB or RB help, though. Depth is thin, but those are low value positions and the team is just good enough at both spots.

Of course, you could also say they're "just good enough" at CB, too. But if they did trade for one, do either Gilmore or Lewis have enough juice to play some coverage safety in nickel and dime packages? Because Dono and Kearse have been trash.

I'm too lazy to look up stats but how many linemen get traded these days? Surely really low. Seems teams are unwilling to give them away unless for silly picks, Tunsil springs to mind.
you rarely see marquee OL traded. When you do, it's usually due to a contract dispute, and even then the asking price is absurd.

Overall even with the loss of Diggs, our CB's aren't playing terrible. It's the Safeties that we thought were going to be a strength, are the ones that are stinking it up. The guy the Eagles got would've helped us a lot IMO.

Been pimping Jaylon Johnson since last week.
I wouldnt hate it. Have to believe that he is in line to get paid with the top CBs in the league after this season though. Either have to pay him or probably give up a top draft pick for a rental.

Even more unpopular opinion: it wont make a difference. Bigger problems other side of ball.

Bland is one of the better corners in the NFL. Not worried at all. No way do you upgrade without giving up your left arm.

Lewis on the other hand????? I kind of think Israel should be the slot corner.

People keep saying Surtain and in a perfect world sure, but it would cost a whole lot, thinking 2 1sts to begin with.

And then a massive contract and a massive commitment to the corner position for a half decade w him and diggs

It's funny to me how the consensus is that Dallas needs corners but not receivers. They still have three starting caliber corners. They don't have three starting caliber receivers.

I would say LB and Oline depth may be more important than corner at this point in a trade.

No one is trading a shut down corner and if they were, the asking price would be too high.

Just draft one next April. Rookie deal. Get Diggs back. Sign Gilmore to team friendly deal.

Diggs
Bland
Gilmore
Lewis
Igbinoghene
Wright
Rookie

Go win super bowl.

We've been talking about trading for a CB for a week or two...it's not unpopular.

I see many of us talking about trading for a WR or a RB. I don’t think those are big concerns right now. I see this as an opportunity to replace a huge hole in the ship before it sinks with Trevon Diggs out. I’m not 100% confident in Daron Bland yet although he’s been playing lights out, I need to see more.

What do you guys think?

#cowboyszone !!!
I think that they are looking at trading for another corner.

Has that dude we got from Miami looked any good? Can’t he play the role of dime CB? We also have Mukuamu and Nashon who are ok depth options.

I think we need another RB. Offense needs a spark and Dak has enough receivers.
Dak has 1 receiver

Yes, will cost a day 2 pick and would be more of a rental, but they do need another starting corner for the future as Gilmore/Lewis are fa's after the season.
