Up to 90 million in free CAP space

That seems too good to be true lol you’re telling me we can sign Justin Simmons or Peterson at safety and sign or trade for big name dt. Sign jj watt and sign Sherman for corner?!

gonna be a crazy off season

I seriously do hope we make some moves. If they just paid dak I can see some guys want to come be with him out the team over the hump.

Dallas is currently sitting at $27.39 million in cap space, per OverTheCap.com. And at roughly $47.5 million in space this coming offseason if the cap hops upward to $195 million.

Its not crazy. We can use the credit card approach, but eventually the bill will be due. We had several seasons of bargain bin shopping and responsible cap management until we started signing our own. We haven't completely wrecked the cap yet, but its clear we have some dead weight.

I never get concerned over what the cap is. It works itself out. Just be glad over all these years Jerry did not overspend.
No FA really ever helped a team get over the top anyway. Look at all the FA's the Giants brought in over the last 4 or 5 years. Where are they at now? Eagles?

Build through the draft. As Dallas has been doing. But it was wasted by Garrett. Let's see what MM does with last year, and if another good draft this year plus what he has now. At least on offense. Build the defense with the 10 picks we have.

This is why I'm never really worried about the Cap. If they truly WANT somebody they cam and will try to get him

Yes, supposedly the Saints are, depending on who you believe, $100 or $110 million over the cap. But what do you bet most of their top players, except Brees who is probably going to retire, will be back next year?

The cap is more complicated than most people think....

Yeah I am not sure you are reading that right.

They have $18.4 million in cap space with a league cap of $180.5 million according to this link.

Cowboys currently have around 20 million in free CAP space, but they can free up to 90 million per TheLandryHat.com

Let me again clear this up for all you Arlington Jonesboys fans. Your owner and GM has not been fully committed to winning Super Bowls for 25 years because to keep you as fans he only has to keep the Arlington Jonesboys, as he said, "RELEVANT". He watch his net worth and franchise grow to $5B by not winning Super Bowls but by being "relevant".

The Cowboys have been out of cap space purgatory for 21 years. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones has had 4 years with his top QB and Top RB on rookie contracts and did nothing to draft, re-sign, or sign credible defensive talent. It's about the offensive show to keep the Cowboys "relevant". Unless you are in the Arlington Jonesboys Country Club like Sean Lee, you will not be re-signed at the LB, CB, or S positions. Remember Darrin Smith, Randall Godfrey, Dexter Coakley, Brock Marion, Ryan McNeil, etc. All are LBers and DBs that were better than anyone on the Jonesboys current roster and their NFL careers prove it.

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones could have unlimited cap space and he will do the same thing he has done the last 20 years. How many times he could have made up the mistake of not drafting Randy Moss when Randy had to exit Minnesota, and Oakland. Again the man had Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott on rookie deals from 2016-19. Please name me the Pierre Paul, Ndamukong Suh, Frank Clark, Deforest Buckner, Kahil Mack, Stephon Gilmore, Calais Campbell player that Jerry Jones brought to Dallas from 2014-2020?

Football is not rocket science...you run to win, pass to score and defense wins championships. In Tank Lawrence, the Arlington Jonesboys has one player on defense that got resigned that was not unavailable (Sean Lee type) or unreliable (Randy Gregory, David Irving types). But don't forget Jerry Dumbo GM Jones re-signed that great DB....Anthony Brown.

Having cap space and spending cap space where you need to spend it to win championships is a huge disconnect for Jerry Dumbo GM Jones. His focus on winning, is his focus on cap space, and is his focus on player personnel...keep the Arlington Jonesboys "RELEVANT".

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones will franchise Dak Prescott, then trade Prescott and Elliott to the Jacksonville Jaguars for Three 1st round picks giving the Cowboys 2 picks in the 1st round of the most unpredictable NFL draft in NFL draft history. Arlington Jonesboys fans will go crazy with happiness that they have Trevor "Sunshine" Lawrence. But they will not understand that the team will be starting the "relevant" Jerry Dumbo GM Jones philosophy all over again for year 2021.

Good luck with being "RELEVANT" Arlington Jonesboys fans. You have the no.1 valued franchise in the world but not even an NFC championship game appearance in 25 years.

Cutting guys like Hamilton may save $1 million but then you have to replace him with someone else. I have no problem cutting him if they find a better player but cutting just to save money doesn't really save anything if the player has to be replaced.

I think restructuring Tyron Smith is a mistake, even if it is possible. We are talking about letting him go on the one hand while looking to restructure on the other? Restructuring all those players saves CAP room in 2021 but then it comes due over the next few years. We have been here before. It creates a future CAP problem that is inescapable. Imagine if they restructured a bunch of guys 2 years ago and then found themselves dealing with that bill this year with the CAP going down $20 million?

Most of the time you are right with the exception of getting Sanders back in the day. I think the Bucs would disagree with you also.

What you can do, and what you should do is two different things
I wouldn’t restructure Cooper, smith, Zeke or Collins
And cutting a guy like jaylon to clear cap space is not likely to actually clear you any space or very little by the time you pay his replacement
Restructuring guys like Dlaw and Martin is fine
Zeke was signed to make it easy to move on from in 2 years and a restructure changes that
I would have to see a year of Collins and smith to see if they are healthy before I messed with either contract

90 isn't realistic.

Restructures:

D Law - $12m
Amari - $14m
Martin - $7.5m
Tyron - $7m
Zeke - $7m
La'El - $5.5m

Cuts:

Jaylon - $7m

That's a lot of movement for $60m.
Dont forget we have 23 million already if the cap is 180. Add 3 mil for cutting jones. That comes out to 86 million.
