Watching the previews that were shown at "Batman Vs. Superman" I came to one conclusion...

Virtually every release coming up is either a "superhero" themed movie or it's an animated movie.

Just saw the new Star Wars and wasn't impressed......SPOILERS...........too many cameos from the old guys.......and how many Death Stars will the Republic allow them to build without building one of their own or destroying it before it gets completed..........and Death Star builders please protect power source better against an X-Wing fighter.....

The Republic doesn't exist at the time of Rogue One. Emperor Palpatine dissolved the Republic to create the Galactic Empire. The Rebel Alliance didn't have the resources for building a competing Death Star. It is crazy how the Empire couldn't better protect a Death Star that wasn't completely constructed but was fully operational in Return of the Jedi.

Edit: Nevermind. You're referring to Awakens. I'm thinking you're talking about the Rogue One trailer.

The Rebel Alliance didn't have the resources for building a competing Death Star. It is crazy how the Empire couldn't better protect a Death Star that wasn't completely constructed but was fully operational in Return of the Jedi.

I want to know how the Empire built the Death Star in space. It is basically a space station the size of a small moon. Were tiny, tiny, fraction of pieces built on land and then somewhat transported into space and attached to other parts sitting and waiting? Bizarre.

Plus I thought they were all but defeated at the end of Jedi when Vader and the Emperor died.

How did they come back so strong, so fast? Was that Supreme Ruler there the whole saga, I don't remember him.

My bad, I was referring to Rogue One (Death Star), which is pre Star Wars. As for the Force Awakens, obviously the Galatic Empire had remnants that survived, and just formed into the First Order, my guess..
