McCarthy said Gallup is making progress, but it might have to wait until the team reports for training camp until we'll hear further.

"Michael is doing very well in his rehab. He's here every day. He's been here throughout the prehab, the surgery & now the rehab," McCarthy said. "I think once we get to training camp, we'll have a tighter view on exactly when he'll be available."

I mean in reality, no Dallas fan believes he will be ready week 1. It’ll be the PUP until week 7 or he misses at least 3-4 games to start.

But they’ll drag it out until opening kickoff or the season
It’s a long season. Missing 3 to 6 games is not that big of a deal. Gallup should be ready for the stretch run. Word is the Alabama wide receiver who tore his ACL a week later, might be a top 10 pick.

Good for him, I hope everything goes great and it's nice that he's at the facility through this. If you found anything to roast Gallup or the process about get help.

No one knows. Not even Michael Gallup or his doctors. It is just a "wait, hope, pray and see" type thing. He could be back on the football field as good as ever by the end of September. Then again he may struggle all season with both his physical ability and his confidence. The answers will come in due time. Let us all hope for the best for the player and the team.

Lol. You're such a negative Nancy Henn.
I disagree he is being realistic. Gallup had surgery in February 20 IIRC so mid to late August is 6 months removed from surgery. Even if that is a medical miracle he wont be ready until mid season and most likely will be on PUP to start the season.

Translation.

He will was to be ready for TC. per his agent.
Then went to may miss the start of the season. Per another source, but can't remember if from the media or and inside course or the team itself.

Now to we will see at TC but he is making progress. Well, duh, we hope he is making progress.

Anyway translation.
TC, he will start on PUP and will see how he does on side work with trainers.
We will keep him out of the rest of TC and re-evaluate when we get back to the Star.
He is day to day...oops, did Garrett chime in there...
Gallup could miss the 1st few weeks so should come off of PUP
...roster cutdown to 53...Michael will start on PUP and be ready and miss those 6 games.
Week 10, we think Michael is ready.
Week 14, Michael is working off the rust.

This is typical and their canned BS. How many times have we seen this. This will make the Cooper decision even worse. I was ok with that though they should have got more in the trade. But that is history.
But if the above pans out, then this was another poor choice as they should have restructured Cooper, let Gallup test FA, or sign him later on as he recovered.
I wanted to be positive about this, but right now can't trust what the FO says. Who knows in the long run, it will turn out great, remains to be seen. Still a long ways away from the start of the season.

My biggest pet peeve with the FO, they come out and telegraph the intentions, can't trade a player we will release him...how dumb, we all posted that. But the injury status has always been BS.

Need him ready out of the gate.
CD can't carry the wr position by himself.

So in reality it was a little more than a two year extension. Not a three for sure. I was the first one here to tell people he would miss 4-6 games. Nobody wanted to believe it. We are going into the season with CeeDee, Washington, and Simi, LOL. History repeats itself rather quickly this time.

The last quote from The Mouth Jr. was that he would miss the first 2-3 games. Considering they're usually overly optimistic about players returning from injury to 100%, no one knows until he starts actually practicing in real time.

Then the mental aspect of trusting that repair comes into play and some take a lot longer to get back to trusting that repair.

Regardless, Gallup is gonna always miss his share of games per injuries. meniscus, calf, foot, ACL, etc. etc.

So it is ...and will be so very critical to get another Cedrick Wilson backup ..or two ,to be very handy and available.

no he wont not one bit i believe IF the FO wanted him to lay game 1 he would easily be available this acl was not part fo anther catastrophic injury. where have you been acl recovery is 6-9 months EASY.. then time to get reacclimated..acls like his are close to elective surgery. Fast recovery. He will not be on PUP they will be cautious and that's the only reason he wont be starting game 1 maybe 2..

I had my right ACL replaced in 2018 and i was 48 yrs old and blew it wakeboarding. I wakeboard, wakesurf, and snowboard plus have physical job. that said in 6 months with little professional rehab i was back on snowboard wearing brace but just taking it easy going downhill 9 months back full speed doing flips and **** at 23MPH behind a boat..im 52 wore the brace this entire time, no issues AT ALL..so a young athletic player with 24-7 rehab easily can be back at 8-9months ..EASILY!
