Collinsworth was taking shots at Parnell all night. Made it known that he didn't think this OL was the same after Free left.

I wonder if @xwalker muted the rest of the game or if he just watched the game in tears.

No, I've just reviewed all runs to the right to compare Free and Parnell. I'll post the review later but Parnell was unequivocally NOT the problem in runs to the right. I have not reviewed all of the pass plays but he appeared to be fine in Pass Pro also. I guess he'll get blamed for the one hit on Romo where Romo held the ball for 8+ seconds and the pass rusher was driven very deep and eventually came back around to hit Romo.

Collinsworth is a dumb-dumb and you guys are silly if you believe everything he says.

Agree with this. But also, I counted 8-9 men in the box several times. This game we made them pay by going over the top. Refs didn't let them mug our receivers either

Refs were very on top of their game. Looking at the end results we had more penalties than them, but the PI's (finally ) against them were very critical to keeping drives alive.

I don't necessarily agree with you concerning Parnell and his prospects but you've done the work; he must be doing something right. Thank you.

As for Collinsworth, he is a poopy head.

Wouldn't dream of faulting anybody for not having the time to do it. It takes a lot of time. I don't do it myself. I was only referring to posters making light of the guys who do take the time to look at the film and tell us what they see.

I don't agree with xwalker on Parnell myself, but I definitely appreciate his perspective and get a lot out of the time he puts into his analyses.

Oh no doubt I have said thanks to the young fella and others several times for their efforts, I was just teasing him along with others because our back up had a rough go of it...

That's fair, just like any of us. You go all-in on a player, you gotta expect a little heat if he doesn't pan out. That's part of the fun.

Yeah I'm all for the success of all our guys. Kinda bummed D-Law is having a slow recovery as well...

No kidding. We could have really used a big, early hit on that guy.

Not going to complain about it this week, though. We got more pressure last night than I ever thought we would, so I'm going to give it a pass for a week, at least.

I watched the game and listened to the radio broadcast. On TV they made little mention of Martin's injury, but Kristie Scales, Brad, and Babe all noticed how slow Martin was to get up and how much he was limping during the TV timeout.

Martin was visibly limping and giving him some trouble. There were a few plays I watched him struggle to get to the second level or shuffle to pick up a stunt. He wasn't coming off the ball with the same explosion that we've grown accustomed to seeing. Parnell generally does a pretty good job but doesn't have the same footwork that Free does. I was wondering if they were gonna pull Martin, but a gimpy Martin is still better than a healthy Bernadeau.

A review of the game footage shows them to be about equal in this game.
The line seemes to have any more negative runs once Free went out. Perhaps it was coincidence but it sure seemed like it the instance Free went down, Murray was regularly being stopped behind the line of scrimmage went running to the right side.

Parnell's biggest issue is he has slow feet and is slow recognizing flow. As a lineman sometimes it is better to move and engage than just engage, soo if a guy lines up on you and moves laterally you need to be able recognize where he is trying to go and beat him there. Parnell is awesome when a guy comes straight at him and he can use his muscle and athleticism. But when he has to make blocks on the move or read line flow to get to a cutoff block he is not as "sure" on where to go and gets there slow if at all. Also martin being nicked probably didn't help.

If Parnell has to step in, I expect he will play better then he did last night. With a full weeks practice he should be better and most teams don't play their DEs in the same alignment Philly does. I would rather have Free but if Parnell has to start, I think he will be better. At least I hope so.

I would expect him to play better but not up to Free's level.

I think you realize that generalized "seems like" is not an accurate method of analysis.

I can't post it right now, but I charted each run to the right and Parnell was not the problem on most of them. Surprisingly the primary tackler came from the back several times. Two times it was Escobar lined up next to Tyron and his man was able to come all the way across the line and get the tackle from the back side.

If you want a generalization, consider that Martin started limping around sometime after Parnell entered the game.
